In thetwenty andseventhyear ofJeroboamking ofIsrael beganAzariahson ofAmaziahking ofJudah toreign.
2Sixteenyearsold was he when he began toreign, and hereignedtwo andfiftyyears inJerusalem. And hismother'sname wasJecholiah ofJerusalem.
3 And hedid that which wasright in thesight of theLORD, according to all that hisfatherAmaziah haddone;
4 Save that the highplaces were notremoved: thepeoplesacrificed and burntincense still on the highplaces.
5 And theLORDsmote theking, so that he was aleper unto theday of hisdeath, anddwelt in aseveralhouse. AndJotham theking'sson was over thehouse,judging thepeople of theland.
6 And therest of theacts ofAzariah, and all that hedid, are they notwritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofJudah?
7 SoAzariahslept with hisfathers; and theyburied him with hisfathers in thecity ofDavid: andJotham hissonreigned in his stead.
9 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD, as hisfathers haddone: hedeparted not from thesins ofJeroboam theson ofNebat, who madeIsrael tosin.
10 AndShallum theson ofJabeshconspired against him, andsmote himbefore thepeople, andslew him, andreigned in his stead.
11 And therest of theacts ofZachariah, behold, they arewritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofIsrael.
12 This was theword of theLORD which hespake untoJehu,saying, Thysons shallsit on thethrone ofIsrael unto thefourth generation. And so it came to pass.
13Shallum theson ofJabesh began toreign in thenine andthirtiethyear ofUzziahking ofJudah; and hereigned afullmonth inSamaria.
14 ForMenahem theson ofGadi wentup fromTirzah, andcame toSamaria, andsmoteShallum theson ofJabesh inSamaria, andslew him, andreigned in his stead.
15 And therest of theacts ofShallum, and hisconspiracy which hemade, behold, they arewritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofIsrael.
16 ThenMenahemsmoteTiphsah, and all that were therein, and thecoasts thereof fromTirzah: because theyopened not to him, therefore hesmote it; and all the women therein that were withchild he rippedup.
17 In thenine andthirtiethyear ofAzariahking ofJudah beganMenahem theson ofGadi toreign overIsrael, and reignedtenyears inSamaria.
18 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD: hedeparted not all hisdays from thesins ofJeroboam theson ofNebat, who madeIsrael tosin.
19 AndPul theking ofAssyriacame against theland: andMenahemgavePul athousandtalents ofsilver, that hishand might be with him toconfirm thekingdom in hishand.
20 AndMenahemexacted themoney ofIsrael, even of all the mightymen ofwealth, ofeachmanfiftyshekels ofsilver, togive to theking ofAssyria. So theking ofAssyria turnedback, andstayed not there in theland.
21 And therest of theacts ofMenahem, and all that hedid, are they notwritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofIsrael?
22 AndMenahemslept with hisfathers; andPekahiah hissonreigned in his stead.
23 In thefiftiethyear ofAzariahking ofJudahPekahiah theson ofMenahem began toreign overIsrael inSamaria, and reigned twoyears.
24 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD: hedeparted not from thesins ofJeroboam theson ofNebat, who madeIsrael tosin.
25 ButPekah theson ofRemaliah, acaptain of his,conspired against him, andsmote him inSamaria, in thepalace of theking'shouse, withArgob andArieh, and with himfiftymen of theGileadites: and hekilled him, andreigned in his room.
26 And therest of theacts ofPekahiah, and all that hedid, behold, they arewritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofIsrael.
27 In thetwo andfiftiethyear ofAzariahking ofJudahPekah theson ofRemaliah began toreign overIsrael inSamaria, and reignedtwentyyears.
28 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD: hedeparted not from thesins ofJeroboam theson ofNebat, who madeIsrael tosin.
29 In thedays ofPekahking ofIsraelcameTiglathpileserking ofAssyria, andtookIjon, andAbelbethmaachah, andJanoah, andKedesh, andHazor, andGilead, andGalilee, all theland ofNaphtali, and carried themcaptive toAssyria.
30 AndHoshea theson ofElahmade aconspiracy againstPekah theson ofRemaliah, andsmote him, andslew him, andreigned in his stead, in thetwentiethyear ofJotham theson ofUzziah.
31 And therest of theacts ofPekah, and all that hedid, behold, they arewritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofIsrael.
33Five andtwentyyearsold was he when he began toreign, and hereignedsixteenyears inJerusalem. And hismother'sname wasJerusha, thedaughter ofZadok.
34 And hedid that which wasright in thesight of theLORD: hedid according to all that hisfatherUzziah haddone.
35 Howbeit the highplaces were notremoved: thepeoplesacrificed and burnedincense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
36Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
37In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
38And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
