In hisdaysNebuchadnezzarking ofBabylon cameup, andJehoiakim became hisservantthreeyears: then heturned andrebelled against him.
2 And theLORDsent against himbands of theChaldees, andbands of theSyrians, andbands of theMoabites, andbands of thechildren ofAmmon, andsent them againstJudah todestroy it, according to theword of theLORD, which hespakeby hisservants theprophets.
3 Surely at thecommandment of theLORD came this uponJudah, toremove them out of hissight, for thesins ofManasseh, according to all that hedid;
4 And also for theinnocentblood that heshed: for hefilledJerusalem withinnocentblood; which theLORDwould notpardon.
5 Now therest of theacts ofJehoiakim, and all that hedid, are they notwritten in thebook of thechronicles of thekings ofJudah?
6 SoJehoiakimslept with hisfathers: andJehoiachin hissonreigned in his stead.
7 And theking ofEgyptcame notagain any more out of hisland: for theking ofBabylon hadtaken from theriver ofEgypt unto theriverEuphrates all that pertained to theking ofEgypt.
8Jehoiachin waseighteenyearsold when he began toreign, and hereigned inJerusalemthreemonths. And hismother'sname wasNehushta, thedaughter ofElnathan ofJerusalem.
9 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD, according to all that hisfather haddone.
10 At thattime theservants ofNebuchadnezzarking ofBabylon cameup againstJerusalem, and thecity wasbesieged.
11 AndNebuchadnezzarking ofBabyloncame against thecity, and hisservants didbesiege it.
12 AndJehoiachin theking ofJudah wentout to theking ofBabylon, he, and hismother, and hisservants, and hisprinces, and hisofficers: and theking ofBabylontook him in theeighthyear of hisreign.
13 And he carriedout thence all thetreasures of thehouse of theLORD, and thetreasures of theking'shouse, and cut inpieces all thevessels ofgold whichSolomonking ofIsrael hadmade in thetemple of theLORD, as theLORD hadsaid.
14 And he carriedaway allJerusalem, and all theprinces, and all the mightymen ofvalour, evententhousandcaptives, and all thecraftsmen andsmiths: noneremained,save the poorestsort of thepeople of theland.
15 And he carriedawayJehoiachin toBabylon, and theking'smother, and theking'swives, and hisofficers, and themighty of theland, thosecarried he intocaptivity fromJerusalem toBabylon.
16 And all themen ofmight, evenseventhousand, andcraftsmen andsmiths athousand, all that werestrong andapt forwar, even them theking ofBabylonbroughtcaptive toBabylon.
17 And theking ofBabylon madeMattaniah his father'sbrotherking in his stead, andchanged hisname toZedekiah.
18Zedekiah wastwenty andoneyearsold when he began toreign, and hereignedelevenyears inJerusalem. And hismother'sname wasHamutal, thedaughter ofJeremiah ofLibnah.
19 And hedid that which wasevil in thesight of theLORD, according to all thatJehoiakim haddone.
20 For through theanger of theLORD it came to pass inJerusalem andJudah, until he had cast themout from hispresence, thatZedekiahrebelled against theking ofBabylon.
