Woe to them that are atease inZion, andtrust in themountain ofSamaria, which arenamedchief of thenations, to whom thehouse ofIsrael came!
Pass ye untoCalneh, andsee; and from thencego ye toHamath thegreat: then godown toGath of thePhilistines: be theybetter than thesekingdoms? or theirbordergreater than your border?
Ye that put faraway theevilday, and cause theseat ofviolence to come near;
Thatlie uponbeds ofivory, andstretch themselves upon theircouches, andeat thelambs out of theflock, and thecalves out of themidst of the stall;
Thatchant to thesound of theviol, andinvent to themselvesinstruments ofmusick, like David;
Thatdrinkwine inbowls, andanoint themselves with thechiefointments: but they are notgrieved for theaffliction of Joseph.
Therefore now shall they gocaptive with thefirst that gocaptive, and thebanquet of them thatstretched themselves shall be removed.
TheLordGOD hathsworn byhimself,saith theLORD theGod ofhosts, Iabhor theexcellency ofJacob, andhate hispalaces: therefore will I deliverup thecity with all that is therein.
And it shall come to pass, if thereremaintenmen inonehouse, that they shall die.
And a man'suncle shall take himup, and he thatburneth him, to bringout thebones out of thehouse, and shallsay unto him that is by thesides of thehouse, Is there yet any with thee? and he shallsay,No. Then shall hesay, Hold thytongue: for we may not makemention of thename of the LORD.
For, behold, theLORDcommandeth, and he willsmite thegreathouse withbreaches, and thelittlehouse with clefts.
Shallhorsesrun upon therock? will oneplow there withoxen? for ye haveturnedjudgment intogall, and thefruit ofrighteousness into hemlock:
Ye whichrejoice in athing ofnought, whichsay, Have we nottaken to ushorns by our own strength?
But, behold, I will raiseup against you anation, Ohouse ofIsrael,saith theLORD theGod ofhosts; and they shallafflict you from the enteringin ofHemath unto theriver of the wilderness.
