Thou shalt notsacrifice unto theLORD thyGod anybullock, orsheep, wherein isblemish, or anyevilfavouredness: for that is anabomination unto theLORD thy God.
2 If there befoundamong you, withinany of thygates which theLORD thyGodgiveth thee,man orwoman, that hathwroughtwickedness in thesight of theLORD thyGod, intransgressing his covenant,
3 And hathgone andservedothergods, andworshipped them, either thesun, ormoon, or any of thehost ofheaven, which I have not commanded;
4 And it betold thee, and thou hastheard of it, andenquireddiligently, and, behold, it betrue, and thethingcertain, that suchabomination iswrought in Israel:
5 Then shalt thou bringforth thatman or thatwoman, which havecommitted thatwickedthing, unto thygates, even thatman or thatwoman, and shaltstone them withstones, till they die.
6 At themouth oftwowitnesses, orthreewitnesses, shall he that is worthy ofdeath be put todeath; but at themouth ofonewitness he shall not be put to death.
7 Thehands of thewitnesses shall befirst upon him to put him todeath, andafterward thehands of all thepeople. So thou shaltput theevilaway from among you.
8 If there arise amatter toohard for thee injudgment, betweenblood andblood, betweenplea andplea, and betweenstroke andstroke, beingmatters ofcontroversy within thygates: then shalt thouarise, and get theeup into theplace which theLORD thyGod shall choose;
9 And thou shaltcome unto thepriests theLevites, and unto thejudge that shall be in thosedays, andenquire; and they shallshew thee thesentence of judgment:
10 And thou shaltdo according to thesentence, which they of thatplace which theLORD shallchoose shallshew thee; and thou shaltobserve todo according to all that they inform thee:
11 According to thesentence of thelaw which they shallteach thee, and according to thejudgment which they shalltell thee, thou shaltdo: thou shalt notdecline from thesentence which they shallshew thee, to the righthand, nor to the left.
12 And theman that willdopresumptuously, and will nothearken unto thepriest thatstandeth tominister there before theLORD thyGod, or unto thejudge, even thatman shalldie: and thou shalt putaway theevil from Israel.
13 And all thepeople shallhear, andfear, and do no more presumptuously.
14 When thou artcome unto theland which theLORD thyGodgiveth thee, and shaltpossess it, and shaltdwell therein, and shaltsay, I willset aking over me, like as all thenations that are about me;
15 Thou shalt in anywiseset himking over thee, whom theLORD thyGod shallchoose: one fromamong thybrethren shalt thousetking over thee: thoumayest notset astranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
16 But he shall notmultiplyhorses to himself, nor cause thepeople toreturn toEgypt, to the end that he shouldmultiplyhorses: forasmuch as theLORD hathsaid unto you, Ye shallhenceforthreturn no more that way.
17 Neither shall hemultiplywives to himself, that hisheartturn not away: neither shall hegreatlymultiply to himselfsilver and gold.
18 And it shall be, when hesitteth upon thethrone of hiskingdom, that he shallwrite him acopy of thislaw in abook out of that which isbefore thepriests the Levites:
19 And it shall be with him, and he shallread therein all thedays of hislife: that he maylearn tofear theLORD hisGod, tokeep all thewords of thislaw and thesestatutes, to do them:
20 That hisheart be not liftedup above hisbrethren, and that he turn notaside from thecommandment, to the righthand, or to theleft: to the end that he mayprolong hisdays in hiskingdom, he, and hischildren, in themidst of Israel.
