Ecclesiastes
Chapter 11
KJV · Textus Receptus
Cast thybreadupon thewaters: for thou shaltfind it aftermany days.
2Give aportion toseven, and also toeight; for thouknowest not whatevil shall be upon the earth.
3 If theclouds befull ofrain, theyempty themselves upon theearth: and if thetreefall toward thesouth, or toward thenorth, in theplace where thetreefalleth, there it shall be.
4 He thatobserveth thewind shall notsow; and he thatregardeth theclouds shall not reap.
5 As thouknowest not what is theway of thespirit, nor how thebones do grow in thewomb of her that is withchild: even so thouknowest not theworks ofGod who maketh all.
6 In themorningsow thyseed, and in theeveningwithhold not thinehand: for thouknowest notwhether shallprosper, either this or that, or whether theyboth shall bealike good.
7 Truly thelight issweet, and apleasant thing it is for theeyes tobehold the sun:
8 But if amanlivemanyyears, andrejoice in them all; yet let himremember thedays ofdarkness; for they shall bemany. All thatcometh is vanity.
9Rejoice, O youngman, in thyyouth; and let thyheartcheer thee in thedays of thyyouth, andwalk in theways of thineheart, and in thesight of thineeyes: butknow thou, that for all these thingsGod willbring thee into judgment.
10 Thereforeremovesorrow from thyheart, and putawayevil from thyflesh: forchildhood andyouth are vanity.
