And that thou mayesttell in theears of thyson, and of thyson'sson, what things I havewrought inEgypt, and mysigns which I havedone among them; that ye mayknow how that I am the LORD.
AndMoses andAaron camein untoPharaoh, andsaid unto him, Thussaith theLORDGod of theHebrews, Howlong wilt thourefuse tohumble thyselfbefore me? let mypeoplego, that they may serve me.
Else, if thourefuse to let mypeoplego, behold, tomorrow will Ibring thelocusts into thy coast:
And they shallcover theface of theearth, that one cannot beable tosee theearth: and they shalleat theresidue of that which isescaped, whichremaineth unto you from thehail, and shalleat everytree whichgroweth for you out of the field:
And they shallfill thyhouses, and thehouses of all thyservants, and thehouses of all theEgyptians; which neither thyfathers, nor thyfathers'fathers haveseen, since theday that they were upon theearth unto thisday. And heturned himself, and wentout from Pharaoh.
AndPharaoh'sservantssaid unto him, How long shall this man be asnare unto us? let themengo, that they mayserve theLORD theirGod:knowest thou notyet thatEgypt is destroyed?
AndMoses andAaron were broughtagain untoPharaoh: and hesaid unto them,Go,serve theLORD yourGod: but who are they that shall go?
AndMosessaid, We willgo with ouryoung and with ourold, with oursons and with ourdaughters, with ourflocks and with ourherds will wego; for we must hold afeast unto the LORD.
And hesaid unto them, Let theLORD be so with you, as I will let yougo, and your littleones:look to it; forevil is before you.
Not so:go now ye that aremen, andserve theLORD; for that ye diddesire. And they were drivenout fromPharaoh's presence.
And theLORDsaid untoMoses, Stretchout thinehand over theland ofEgypt for thelocusts, that they may comeup upon theland ofEgypt, andeat everyherb of theland, even all that thehail hath left.
AndMoses stretchedforth hisrod over theland ofEgypt, and theLORDbrought aneastwind upon theland all thatday, and all thatnight; and when it wasmorning, theeastwindbrought the locusts.
And thelocusts wentup over all theland ofEgypt, andrested in all thecoasts ofEgypt:verygrievous were they;before them there were nosuchlocusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
For theycovered theface of the wholeearth, so that theland wasdarkened; and they dideat everyherb of theland, and all thefruit of thetrees which thehail hadleft: and thereremained not any greenthing in thetrees, or in theherbs of thefield, through all theland of Egypt.
ThenPharaohcalled forMoses andAaron inhaste; and hesaid, I havesinned against theLORD your God, and against you.
Now thereforeforgive, I pray thee, mysin only thisonce, andintreat theLORD yourGod, that he may takeaway from me this death only.
And he wentout fromPharaoh, andintreated the LORD.
And theLORDturned amightystrongwestwind, which tookaway thelocusts, andcast them into theRedsea; thereremained notonelocust in all thecoasts of Egypt.
But theLORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart, so that he would not let thechildren ofIsrael go.
And theLORDsaid untoMoses, Stretchout thinehand towardheaven, that there may bedarkness over theland ofEgypt, evendarkness which may be felt.
AndMoses stretchedforth hishand towardheaven; and there was athickdarkness in all theland ofEgyptthree days:
Theysaw notoneanother, neitherroseany from his place forthreedays: but all thechildren ofIsrael hadlight in their dwellings.
AndPharaohcalled untoMoses, andsaid,Go ye,serve theLORD; only let yourflocks and yourherds bestayed: let your littleones also go with you.
AndMosessaid, Thou mustgiveus alsosacrifices and burntofferings, that we maysacrifice unto theLORD our God.
Ourcattle also shallgo with us; there shall not anhoof be leftbehind; for thereof must wetake toserve theLORD ourGod; and weknow not with what we mustserve theLORD, until we come thither.
But theLORDhardenedPharaoh'sheart, and hewould not let them go.
AndPharaohsaid unto him,Get thee from me, takeheed to thyself, see myface nomore; for in thatday thouseest myface thou shalt die.
AndMosessaid, Thou hastspokenwell, I willsee thyface again no more.
