KJV · Textus Receptus
And theLORDspake untoMoses andAaron in theland ofEgypt, saying,
Thismonth shall be unto you thebeginning ofmonths: it shall be thefirstmonth of the year to you.
Speak ye unto all thecongregation ofIsrael, saying, In thetenth day of thismonth they shalltake to them everyman alamb, according to thehouse of theirfathers, alamb for an house:
And if thehouseholdbe toolittle for thelamb, let him and hisneighbournext unto hishousetake it according to thenumber of thesouls; everymanaccording to hiseating shall make yourcount for the lamb.
Yourlamb shall be withoutblemish, amale of thefirstyear: ye shalltake it out from thesheep, or from the goats:
And ye shallkeep it up until thefourteenthday of the samemonth: and thewholeassembly of thecongregation ofIsrael shallkill itin the evening.
And they shalltake of theblood, andstrike it on thetwo sideposts and on the upper doorpost of thehouses, wherein they shall eat it.
And they shalleat theflesh in thatnight, roast withfire, and unleavenedbread; and withbitter herbs they shall eat it.
Eat not of itraw, norsodden at all withwater, butroast withfire; hishead with hislegs, and with the purtenance thereof.
And ye shall let nothing of itremain until themorning; and that whichremaineth of it until themorning ye shallburn with fire.
Andthus shall yeeat it; with yourloinsgirded, yourshoes on yourfeet, and yourstaff in yourhand; and ye shalleat it inhaste: it is theLORD'S passover.
For I willpass through theland ofEgypt thisnight, and willsmite all thefirstborn in theland ofEgypt, bothman andbeast; and against all thegods ofEgypt I willexecutejudgment: I am the LORD.
And theblood shall be to you for atoken upon thehouses where ye are: and when Isee theblood, I willpass over you, and theplague shall not be upon you todestroy you, when Ismite theland of Egypt.
And thisday shall be unto you for amemorial; and ye shallkeep it afeast to theLORD throughout yourgenerations; ye shall keep it afeast by anordinance for ever.
Sevendays shall yeeat unleavenedbread;even thefirstday ye shall putawayleaven out of yourhouses: for whosoevereateth leavenedbread from thefirstday until theseventhday, thatsoul shall becut off from Israel.
And in thefirstday there shall be anholyconvocation, and in theseventhday there shall be anholyconvocation to you; no manner ofwork shall bedone in them, save that which everyman musteat, that only may be done of you.
And ye shallobserve the feast of unleavenedbread; for in thisselfsameday have Ibrought yourarmies out of theland ofEgypt: therefore shall yeobserve thisday in yourgenerations by anordinance for ever.
In thefirst month, on thefourteenthday of themonth ateven, ye shalleat unleavenedbread, until theone andtwentiethday of themonth at even.
Sevendays shall there be noleavenfound in yourhouses: for whosoevereateth that which isleavened, even thatsoul shall be cutoff from thecongregation ofIsrael, whether he be astranger, orborn in the land.
Ye shalleat nothingleavened; in all yourhabitations shall yeeat unleavened bread.
ThenMosescalled for all theelders ofIsrael, andsaid unto them, Drawout andtake you alamb according to yourfamilies, andkill the passover.
And ye shalltake abunch ofhyssop, anddip it in theblood that is in thebason, andstrike thelintel and thetwo sideposts with theblood that is in thebason; andnone of you shall goout at thedoor of hishouse until the morning.
For theLORD will passthrough tosmite theEgyptians; and when heseeth theblood upon thelintel, and on thetwo sideposts, theLORD will passover thedoor, and will notsuffer thedestroyer tocome in unto yourhouses to smite you.
And ye shallobserve thisthing for anordinance to thee and to thysonsfor ever.
And it shall come to pass, when ye become to theland which theLORD willgive you, according as he hathpromised, that ye shallkeep this service.
And it shall come to pass, when yourchildren shallsay unto you, What mean ye by this service?
That ye shallsay, It is thesacrifice of theLORD'Spassover, whopassed over thehouses of thechildren ofIsrael inEgypt, when hesmote theEgyptians, anddelivered ourhouses. And thepeople bowed thehead and worshipped.
And thechildren ofIsrael wentaway, anddid as theLORD hadcommandedMoses andAaron, so did they.
And it came to pass, that atmidnight theLORDsmote all thefirstborn in theland ofEgypt, from thefirstborn ofPharaoh thatsat on histhrone unto thefirstborn of thecaptive that was in thedungeon; and all thefirstborn of cattle.
AndPharaoh roseup in thenight, he, and all hisservants, and all theEgyptians; and there was agreatcry inEgypt; for there was not ahouse where there was not one dead.
And hecalled forMoses andAaron bynight, andsaid, Riseup, and get youforth fromamong mypeople, both ye and thechildren ofIsrael; andgo, serve theLORD, as ye have said.
Alsotake yourflocks and bless me also.
And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment:
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.
In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
