KJV · Textus Receptus
And theLORDspake untoMoses, saying,
Speak unto thechildren ofIsrael, that theyturn andencampbeforePihahiroth, betweenMigdol and thesea, overagainstBaalzephon:before it shall yeencamp by the sea.
ForPharaoh willsay of thechildren ofIsrael, They areentangled in theland, thewilderness hath shut them in.
And I willhardenPharaoh'sheart, that he shallfollowafter them; and I will behonoured uponPharaoh, and upon all hishost; that theEgyptians mayknow that I am theLORD. And they did so.
And it wastold theking ofEgypt that thepeoplefled: and theheart ofPharaoh and of hisservants wasturned against thepeople, and theysaid, Why have wedone this, that we have letIsraelgo from serving us?
And he madeready hischariot, andtook his people with him:
And hetooksixhundredchosenchariots, and all thechariots ofEgypt, and captains over every one of them.
And theLORDhardened theheart ofPharaohking ofEgypt, and hepursuedafter thechildren ofIsrael: and thechildren ofIsrael wentout with anhigh hand.
But theEgyptianspursuedafter them, all thehorses andchariots ofPharaoh, and hishorsemen, and hisarmy, andovertook themencamping by thesea, besidePihahiroth, before Baalzephon.
And whenPharaoh drewnigh, thechildren ofIsrael liftedup theireyes, and, behold, theEgyptiansmarchedafter them; and they weresoreafraid: and thechildren ofIsrael criedout unto the LORD.
And theysaid untoMoses, Because there were nograves inEgypt, hast thou taken usaway todie in thewilderness?wherefore hast thoudealt thus with us, to carry usforth out of Egypt?
Is not this theword that we didtell thee inEgypt, saying, Let usalone, that we mayserve theEgyptians? For it had beenbetter for us toserve theEgyptians, than that we shoulddie in the wilderness.
AndMosessaid unto thepeople,Fear ye not, standstill, andsee thesalvation of theLORD, which he willshew to you today: for theEgyptians whom ye haveseen today, ye shallsee themagain no morefor ever.
TheLORD shallfight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
And theLORDsaid untoMoses, Whereforecriest thou unto me?speak unto thechildren ofIsrael, that they go forward:
But lift thouup thyrod, and stretchout thinehand over thesea, anddivide it: and thechildren ofIsrael shallgo ondry ground through themidst of the sea.
And I, behold, I willharden thehearts of theEgyptians, and they shallfollowthem: and I will get mehonour uponPharaoh, and upon all hishost, upon hischariots, and upon his horsemen.
And theEgyptians shallknow that I am theLORD, when I have gotten mehonour uponPharaoh, upon hischariots, and upon his horsemen.
And theangel ofGod, whichwentbefore thecamp ofIsrael, removed andwentbehind them; and thepillar of thecloudwent from before theirface, andstood behind them:
And itcame between thecamp of theEgyptians and thecamp ofIsrael; and it was acloud anddarkness to them, but it gavelight bynight to these: so that the one came notnear theother all the night.
AndMoses stretchedout hishand over thesea; and theLORD caused thesea togo back by astrongeastwind all thatnight, andmade theseadry land, and thewaters were divided.
And thechildren ofIsraelwent into themidst of thesea upon thedry ground: and thewaters were awall unto them on their righthand, and on their left.
And theEgyptianspursued, and wentinafter them to themidst of thesea, even allPharaoh'shorses, hischariots, and his horsemen.
And it came to pass, that in themorningwatch theLORDlooked unto thehost of theEgyptians through thepillar offire and of thecloud, andtroubled thehost of the Egyptians,
And tookoff theirchariotwheels, that theydrave themheavily: so that theEgyptianssaid, Let usflee from theface ofIsrael; for theLORDfighteth for them against the Egyptians.
And theLORDsaid untoMoses, Stretchout thinehand over thesea, that thewaters may comeagain upon theEgyptians, upon theirchariots, and upon their horsemen.
AndMoses stretchedforth hishand over thesea, and theseareturned to hisstrength when themorningappeared; and theEgyptiansfledagainst it; and theLORDoverthrew theEgyptians in themidst of the sea.
And thewatersreturned, andcovered thechariots, and thehorsemen, and all thehost ofPharaoh thatcame into theseaafter them; thereremained not so muchas one of them.
But thechildren ofIsraelwalked upondry land in themidst of thesea; and thewaters were awall unto them on their righthand, and on their left.
Thus theLORDsavedIsrael thatday out of thehand of theEgyptians; andIsraelsaw theEgyptiansdead upon thesea shore.
AndIsraelsaw thatgreatwork which theLORDdid upon theEgyptians: and thepeoplefeared theLORD, andbelieved theLORD, and hisservant Moses.
