If aman shallsteal anox, or asheep, andkill it, orsell it; he shallrestorefiveoxen for anox, andfoursheep for a sheep.
2 If athief befound breakingup, and besmitten that hedie, there shall no blood be shed for him.
3 If thesun berisen upon him, there shall beblood shed for him; for he should makefullrestitution; if he have nothing, then he shall besold for his theft.
4 If thetheft becertainlyfound in hishandalive, whether it beox, orass, orsheep; he shallrestore double.
5 If aman shall cause afield orvineyard to beeaten, and shallput in hisbeast, and shallfeed in anotherman'sfield; of thebest of his ownfield, and of thebest of his ownvineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 Iffire breakout, andcatch inthorns, so that the stacks ofcorn, or the standingcorn, or thefield, beconsumed therewith; he thatkindled thefire shallsurely make restitution.
7 If aman shalldeliver unto hisneighbourmoney orstuff tokeep, and it bestolen out of theman'shouse; if thethief befound, let himpay double.
8 If thethief benotfound, then themaster of thehouse shall bebrought unto thejudges, to see whether he haveput hishand unto hisneighbour's goods.
9 For allmanner oftrespass, whether it be forox, forass, forsheep, forraiment, or for any manner of lostthing, which anotherchallengeth to be his, thecause of bothparties shallcome before thejudges; and whom thejudges shallcondemn, he shallpaydouble unto his neighbour.
10 If amandeliver unto hisneighbour anass, or anox, or asheep, or anybeast, tokeep; and itdie, or behurt, or drivenaway, no man seeing it:
11 Then shall anoath of theLORD be between themboth, that he hath notput hishand unto hisneighbour'sgoods; and theowner of it shallaccept thereof, and he shall not make it good.
12 And if it bestolen from him, he shall makerestitution unto the owner thereof.
13 If it be torn inpieces, then let himbring it forwitness, and he shall not makegood that which was torn.
14 And if amanborrow ought of hisneighbour, and it behurt, ordie, theowner thereof being not withit, he shallsurely make it good.
15 But if theowner thereof be with it, he shall not make itgood: if it be anhired thing, itcame for his hire.
16 And if amanentice amaid that is notbetrothed, andlie with her, he shallsurelyendow her to be his wife.
17 If herfatherutterlyrefuse togive her unto him, he shallpaymoney according to thedowry of virgins.
18 Thou shalt not suffer awitch to live.
19 Whosoeverlieth with abeast shallsurely be put to death.
20 He thatsacrificeth unto anygod,save unto theLORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21 Thou shalt neithervex astranger, noroppress him: for ye werestrangers in theland of Egypt.
22 Ye shall notafflict anywidow, or fatherless child.
23If thouafflict them in anywise, and theycry atall unto me, I willsurelyhear their cry;
24 And mywrath shall waxhot, and I willkill you with thesword; and yourwives shall bewidows, and yourchildren fatherless.
25 If thoulendmoney to any of mypeople that ispoor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as anusurer, neither shalt thoulay upon him usury.
26 If thou atalltake thyneighbour'sraiment topledge, thou shaltdeliver it unto himby that thesun goeth down:
27 For that is hiscovering only, it is hisraiment for hisskin: wherein shall hesleep? and it shall come to pass, when hecrieth unto me, that I willhear; for I am gracious.
28 Thou shalt notrevile thegods, norcurse theruler of thy people.
29 Thou shalt notdelay to offer the first of thy ripefruits, and of thyliquors: thefirstborn of thysons shalt thou give unto me.
30Likewise shalt thoudo with thineoxen, and with thysheep:sevendays it shall be with hisdam; on theeighthday thou shalt give it me.
31 And ye shall beholymen unto me: neither shall yeeat anyflesh that is torn ofbeasts in thefield; ye shallcast it to the dogs.
