Theword of theLORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Now, thouson ofman, takeup alamentation for Tyrus;
3 Andsay untoTyrus, O thou that artsituate at theentry of thesea, which art amerchant of thepeople formanyisles, Thussaith theLordGOD; OTyrus, thou hastsaid, I am ofperfect beauty.
4 Thyborders are in themidst of theseas, thybuilders haveperfected thy beauty.
5 They havemade all thy shipboards of firtrees ofSenir: they havetakencedars fromLebanon tomake masts for thee.
6 Of theoaks ofBashan have theymade thineoars; thecompany of theAshurites havemade thybenches ofivory, brought out of theisles of Chittim.
7 Finelinen with broideredwork fromEgypt was that which thou spreadestforth to be thysail;blue andpurple from theisles ofElishah was that which covered thee.
8 Theinhabitants ofZidon andArvad were thymariners: thywise men, OTyrus, that were in thee, were thy pilots.
9 Theancients ofGebal and thewise men thereof were in thee thycalkers: all theships of thesea with theirmariners were in thee tooccupy thy merchandise.
10 They ofPersia and ofLud and ofPhut were in thinearmy, thymen ofwar: theyhanged theshield andhelmet in thee; they setforth thy comeliness.
11 Themen ofArvad with thinearmy were upon thywalls roundabout, and theGammadims were in thytowers: theyhanged theirshields upon thywalls roundabout; they havemade thybeauty perfect.
12Tarshish was thymerchant by reason of themultitude of all kind ofriches; withsilver,iron,tin, andlead, theytraded in thy fairs.
13Javan,Tubal, andMeshech, they were thymerchants: theytraded thepersons ofmen andvessels ofbrass in thy market.
14 They of thehouse ofTogarmahtraded in thyfairs withhorses andhorsemen and mules.
15 Themen ofDedan were thymerchants;manyisles were themerchandise of thinehand: theybrought thee for apresenthorns ofivory and ebony.
16Syria was thymerchant by reason of themultitude of the wares of thymaking: theyoccupied in thyfairs withemeralds,purple, and broideredwork, and finelinen, andcoral, and agate.
17Judah, and theland ofIsrael, they were thymerchants: theytraded in thymarketwheat ofMinnith, andPannag, andhoney, andoil, and balm.
18Damascus was thymerchant in themultitude of the wares of thymaking, for themultitude of allriches; in thewine ofHelbon, andwhite wool.
19Dan also andJavan going to andfrooccupied in thyfairs:brightiron,cassia, andcalamus, were in thy market.
20Dedan was thymerchant inpreciousclothes for chariots.
21Arabia, and all theprinces ofKedar, theyoccupied withthee inlambs, andrams, andgoats: in these were they thy merchants.
22 Themerchants ofSheba andRaamah, they were thymerchants: theyoccupied in thyfairs withchief of allspices, and with allpreciousstones, and gold.
23Haran, andCanneh, andEden, themerchants ofSheba,Asshur, andChilmad, were thy merchants.
24 These were thymerchants in allsorts of things, inblueclothes, and broideredwork, and inchests of richapparel,bound withcords, and made ofcedar, among thy merchandise.
25 Theships ofTarshish didsing of thee in thymarket: and thou wastreplenished, and madeveryglorious in themidst of the seas.
26 Thyrowers havebrought thee intogreatwaters: theeastwind hathbroken thee in themidst of the seas.
27 Thyriches, and thyfairs, thymerchandise, thymariners, and thypilots, thycalkers, and theoccupiers of thymerchandise, and all thymen ofwar, that are in thee, and in all thycompany which is in themidst of thee, shallfall into themidst of theseas in theday of thy ruin.
28 Thesuburbs shallshake at thesound of thecry of thy pilots.
29 And all thathandle theoar, themariners, and all thepilots of thesea, shall comedown from theirships, they shallstand upon the land;
30 And shall cause theirvoice to beheard against thee, and shallcrybitterly, and shall castupdust upon theirheads, they shallwallow themselves in the ashes:
31 And they shall make themselvesutterlybald for thee, andgird them withsackcloth, and they shallweep for thee withbitterness ofheart andbitter wailing.
32 And in theirwailing they shall takeup alamentation for thee, andlament over thee, saying, What city is likeTyrus, like thedestroyed in themidst of the sea?
33 When thywares wentforth out of theseas, thoufilledstmanypeople; thou didstenrich thekings of theearth with themultitude of thyriches and of thy merchandise.
34 In thetime when thou shalt bebroken by theseas in thedepths of thewaters thymerchandise and all thycompany in themidst of thee shall fall.
35 All theinhabitants of theisles shall beastonished at thee, and theirkings shall besoreafraid, they shall betroubled in their countenance.
36 Themerchants among thepeople shallhiss at thee; thou shalt be aterror, and never shalt be anymore.
