Also, thouson ofman,prophesy unto themountains ofIsrael, andsay, Yemountains ofIsrael,hear theword of the LORD:
2 Thussaith theLordGOD; Because theenemy hathsaid against you,Aha, even theancient highplaces are ours in possession:
3 Thereforeprophesy andsay, Thussaith theLordGOD; Because they have made youdesolate, and swallowed youup on everyside, that ye might be apossession unto theresidue of theheathen, and ye are takenup in thelips oftalkers, and are aninfamy of the people:
4 Therefore, yemountains ofIsrael,hear theword of theLordGOD; Thussaith theLordGOD to themountains, and to thehills, to therivers, and to thevalleys, to thedesolatewastes, and to thecities that areforsaken, which became aprey andderision to theresidue of theheathen that are round about;
5 Therefore thussaith theLordGOD; Surely in thefire of myjealousy have Ispoken against theresidue of theheathen, and against allIdumea, which haveappointed myland into theirpossession with thejoy of all theirheart, withdespitefulminds, to cast itout for a prey.
6Prophesy therefore concerning theland ofIsrael, andsay unto themountains, and to thehills, to therivers, and to thevalleys, Thussaith theLordGOD; Behold, I havespoken in myjealousy and in myfury, because ye haveborne theshame of the heathen:
7 Therefore thussaith theLordGOD; I have liftedup minehand, Surely theheathen that areabout you, they shallbear their shame.
8 But ye, Omountains ofIsrael, ye shall shootforth yourbranches, andyield yourfruit to mypeople ofIsrael; for they are athand to come.
9 For, behold, I am for you, and I willturn unto you, and ye shall betilled and sown:
10 And I willmultiplymen upon you, all thehouse ofIsrael, even all of it: and thecities shall beinhabited, and thewastes shall be builded:
11 And I willmultiply upon youman andbeast; and they shallincrease and bringfruit: and I willsettle you after your oldestates, and will dobetter unto you than at yourbeginnings: and ye shallknow that I am the LORD.
12 Yea, I will causemen towalk upon you, even mypeopleIsrael; and they shallpossess thee, and thou shalt be theirinheritance, and thou shalt nomore henceforth bereave them of men.
13 Thussaith theLordGOD; Because theysay unto you, Thou land devourestupmen, and hastbereaved thy nations;
14 Therefore thou shaltdevourmen no more, neitherbereave thynations any more,saith theLord GOD.
15 Neither will I cause men tohear in thee theshame of theheathen any more, neither shalt thoubear thereproach of thepeople any more, neither shalt thou cause thynations tofall any more,saith theLord GOD.
16 Moreover theword of theLORD came unto me, saying,
17Son ofman, when thehouse ofIsraeldwelt in their ownland, theydefiled it by their ownway and by theirdoings: theirway wasbefore me as theuncleanness of a removed woman.
18 Wherefore Ipoured myfury upon them for theblood that they hadshed upon theland, and for theiridols wherewith they had polluted it:
19 And Iscattered them among theheathen, and they weredispersed through thecountries: according to theirway and according to theirdoings I judged them.
20 And when theyentered unto theheathen, whither theywent, theyprofaned myholyname, when theysaid to them, These are thepeople of theLORD, and are goneforth out of his land.
21 But I hadpity for mineholyname, which thehouse ofIsrael hadprofaned among theheathen, whither they went.
22 Thereforesay unto thehouse ofIsrael, Thussaith theLordGOD; Ido not this for your sakes, Ohouse ofIsrael, but for mineholyname's sake, which ye haveprofaned among theheathen, whither ye went.
23 And I willsanctify mygreatname, which wasprofaned among theheathen, which ye haveprofaned in themidst of them; and theheathen shallknow that I am theLORD,saith theLordGOD, when I shall besanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I willtake you fromamong theheathen, andgather you out of allcountries, and willbring you into your own land.
25 Then will Isprinklecleanwater upon you, and ye shall beclean: from all yourfilthiness, and from all youridols, will I cleanse you.
26 Anewheart also will Igive you, and anewspirit will Iputwithin you: and I will takeaway thestonyheart out of yourflesh, and I willgive you anheart of flesh.
27 And I willput myspiritwithin you, andcause you towalk in mystatutes, and ye shallkeep myjudgments, and do them.
28 And ye shalldwell in theland that Igave to yourfathers; and ye shall be mypeople, and I will be your God.
29 I will alsosave you from all youruncleannesses: and I willcall for thecorn, and willincrease it, andlay no famine upon you.
30 And I willmultiply thefruit of thetree, and theincrease of thefield, that ye shallreceive no morereproach offamine among the heathen.
31 Then shall yeremember your ownevilways, and yourdoings that were notgood, and shalllothe yourselves in your ownsight for youriniquities and for your abominations.
32 Not for your sakesdo I this,saith theLordGOD, be itknown unto you: beashamed andconfounded for your ownways, Ohouse of Israel.
33 Thussaith theLordGOD; In theday that I shall havecleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
34And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
36Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
37Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
