KJV · Textus Receptus
AndAbram wentup out ofEgypt, he, and hiswife, and all that he had, andLot with him, into the south.
AndAbram wasveryrich incattle, insilver, and in gold.
And hewent on hisjourneys from thesouth even toBethel, unto theplace where histent hadbeen at thebeginning, betweenBethel and Hai;
Unto theplace of thealtar, which he hadmade there at thefirst: and thereAbramcalled on thename of the LORD.
AndLot also, whichwentwithAbram, hadflocks, andherds, and tents.
And theland was not able tobear them, that they mightdwelltogether: for theirsubstance wasgreat, so that theycould notdwell together.
And there was astrife between theherdmen ofAbram'scattle and theherdmen ofLot'scattle: and theCanaanite and thePerizzitedwelled then in the land.
AndAbramsaid untoLot, Let therebenostrife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between myherdmen and thyherdmen; forwe be brethren.
Is not the wholeland beforethee? separatethyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the lefthand, then I will go to theright; or if thou depart to the righthand, then I will go to the left.
AndLot liftedup hiseyes, andbeheld all theplain ofJordan, that it was wellwatered every where,before theLORDdestroyedSodom andGomorrah, even as thegarden of theLORD, like theland ofEgypt, as thoucomest unto Zoar.
ThenLotchose him all theplain ofJordan; andLotjourneyedeast: and they separatedthemselves theone from the other.
Abramdwelled in theland ofCanaan, andLotdwelled in thecities of theplain, and pitched histenttoward Sodom.
But themen ofSodom werewicked andsinners before theLORD exceedingly.
And theLORDsaid untoAbram,after thatLot wasseparated from him, Liftup now thineeyes, andlook from theplace where thou artnorthward, andsouthward, andeastward, and westward:
For all theland which thouseest, to thee will I giveit, and to thyseedfor ever.
And I willmake thyseed as thedust of theearth: sothat if amancannumber thedust of theearth, then shall thyseed also be numbered.
Arise,walk through theland in thelength of it and in thebreadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
ThenAbram removed histent, andcame anddwelt in theplain ofMamre, which is inHebron, andbuilt there analtar unto the LORD.
