And theLORDvisitedSarah as he hadsaid, and theLORDdid untoSarah as he had spoken.
ForSarahconceived, andbareAbraham ason in his oldage, at the settime of whichGod had spoken to him.
AndAbrahamcalled thename of hisson that wasborn unto him, whomSarahbare to him, Isaac.
AndAbrahamcircumcised hissonIsaac beingeightdaysold, asGod had commanded him.
AndAbraham was anhundredyearsold, when hissonIsaac was born unto him.
AndSarahsaid,God hathmade me tolaugh, so that all thathear will laugh with me.
And shesaid, Who would havesaid untoAbraham, thatSarah should have givenchildrensuck? for I haveborn him ason in his old age.
And thechildgrew, and wasweaned: andAbrahammade agreatfeast the sameday thatIsaac was weaned.
AndSarahsaw theson ofHagar theEgyptian, which she hadborn untoAbraham, mocking.
Wherefore shesaid untoAbraham, Castout thisbondwoman and herson: for theson of thisbondwoman shall not beheir with myson, even with Isaac.
And thething wasverygrievous inAbraham'ssightbecause of his son.
AndGodsaid untoAbraham, Let it not begrievous in thysight because of thelad, and because of thybondwoman; in all thatSarah hathsaid unto thee, hearken unto hervoice; for inIsaac shall thyseed be called.
And also of theson of thebondwoman will Imake anation, because he is thy seed.
AndAbraham rose upearly in themorning, andtookbread, and abottle ofwater, andgave it untoHagar, putting it on hershoulder, and thechild, and sent heraway: and shedeparted, andwandered in thewilderness of Beersheba.
And thewater wasspentin thebottle, and shecast thechild underone of the shrubs.
And shewent, and sat herdown overagainst him a good wayoff, as it were abowshot: for shesaid, Let me notsee thedeath of thechild. And shesat over against him, and liftup hervoice, and wept.
AndGodheard thevoice of thelad; and theangel ofGodcalled toHagar out ofheaven, andsaid unto her, What aileth thee,Hagar?fear not; forGod hathheard thevoice of the lad where he is.
Arise, liftup thelad, andhold him in thinehand; for I willmake him agreat nation.
AndGodopened hereyes, and shesaw awell ofwater; and shewent, andfilled thebottle withwater, andgave thelad drink.
AndGod was with thelad; and hegrew, anddwelt in thewilderness, and became anarcher.
And hedwelt in thewilderness ofParan: and hismothertook him awife out of theland of Egypt.
And it came to pass at thattime, thatAbimelech andPhichol the chiefcaptain of hishostspake untoAbraham, saying,God is with thee in all that thou doest:
Now thereforeswear unto mehere byGod that thou wilt not dealfalsely with me, nor with myson, nor with my son'sson: but according to thekindness that I havedone unto thee, thou shaltdo unto me, and to theland wherein thou hast sojourned.
AndAbrahamsaid, I will swear.
AndAbrahamreprovedAbimelechbecause of awell ofwater, whichAbimelech'sservants had violently taken away.
AndAbimelechsaid, Iwot not who hathdone thisthing:neither didst thoutell me,neither yetheard I of it,but to day.
AndAbrahamtooksheep andoxen, andgave them untoAbimelech; and both ofthemmade a covenant.
AndAbrahamsetseven ewelambs of the flock by themselves.
AndAbimelechsaid untoAbraham,What mean theseseven ewelambs which thou hast set by themselves?
And hesaid, For theseseven ewelambs shalt thoutake of myhand, that they may be awitness unto me, that I havedigged this well.
Wherefore hecalled thatplaceBeersheba; because there theysware both of them.
Thus theymade acovenant atBeersheba: thenAbimelech roseup, andPhichol the chiefcaptain of hishost, and theyreturned into theland of the Philistines.
And Abrahamplanted agrove inBeersheba, andcalled there on thename of theLORD, theeverlasting God.
AndAbrahamsojourned in thePhilistines'landmany days.
