AndGodsaid untoJacob,Arise, goup toBethel, anddwell there: andmake there analtar untoGod, thatappeared unto thee when thoufleddest from theface ofEsau thy brother.
2 ThenJacobsaid unto hishousehold, and to all that were with him, Putaway thestrangegods that are amongyou, and beclean, andchange your garments:
3 And let usarise, and goup toBethel; and I willmake there analtar untoGod, whoanswered me in theday of mydistress, and was with me in theway which I went.
4 And theygave untoJacob all thestrangegods which were in theirhand, and all theirearrings which were in theirears; andJacobhid them under theoak which was by Shechem.
5 And theyjourneyed: and theterror ofGod was upon thecities that were roundabout them, and they did notpursueafter thesons of Jacob.
6 SoJacobcame toLuz, which is in theland ofCanaan, that is,Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
7 And hebuilt there analtar, andcalled theplaceElbethel: because thereGodappeared unto him, when hefled from theface of his brother.
8 ButDeborahRebekah'snursedied, and she wasburied beneathBethel under anoak: and thename of it wascalled Allonbachuth.
9 AndGodappeared untoJacob again, when hecame out ofPadanaram, and blessed him.
10 AndGodsaid unto him, Thyname isJacob: thyname shall not becalled any moreJacob, butIsrael shall be thyname: and hecalled hisname Israel.
11 AndGodsaid unto him, I amGodAlmighty: befruitful andmultiply; anation and acompany ofnations shall be of thee, andkings shallcome out of thy loins;
12 And theland which IgaveAbraham andIsaac, to thee I will giveit, and to thyseed afterthee will Igive the land.
13 AndGod wentup from him in theplace where he talked with him.
14 AndJacob setup apillar in theplace where hetalked with him, even apillar ofstone: and hepoured a drinkoffering thereon, and hepoured oil thereon.
15 AndJacobcalled thename of theplace whereGodspake with him, Bethel.
16 And theyjourneyed fromBethel; and there wasbut alittleway tocome toEphrath: andRacheltravailed, and she hadhard labour.
17 And it came to pass, when she was inhardlabour, that themidwifesaid unto her,Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18 And it came to pass, as hersoul was indeparting, (for shedied) that shecalled hisnameBenoni: but hisfathercalled him Benjamin.
19 AndRacheldied, and wasburied in theway toEphrath, which is Bethlehem.
20 AndJacobset apillar upon hergrave: that is thepillar ofRachel'sgrave unto this day.
21 AndIsraeljourneyed, andspread histentbeyond thetower of Edar.
22 And it came to pass, whenIsraeldwelt in thatland, thatReubenwent andlay withBilhah hisfather'sconcubine: andIsraelheard it. Now thesons ofJacob weretwelve:
23 Thesons ofLeah;Reuben,Jacob'sfirstborn, andSimeon, andLevi, andJudah, andIssachar, and Zebulun:
24 Thesons ofRachel;Joseph, and Benjamin:
25 And thesons ofBilhah,Rachel'shandmaid;Dan, and Naphtali:
26 And thesons ofZilpah,Leah'shandmaid;Gad, andAsher: these are thesons ofJacob, which wereborn to him in Padanaram.
27 AndJacobcame untoIsaac hisfather untoMamre, unto the city ofArbah, which isHebron, whereAbraham andIsaac sojourned.
28 And thedays ofIsaac were anhundred andfourscore years.
29 AndIsaac gave up theghost, anddied, and wasgathered unto hispeople, beingold andfull ofdays: and hissonsEsau andJacob buried him.
