And thesons ofIsraelcame tobuy cornamong those thatcame: for thefamine was in theland of Canaan.
AndJoseph was thegovernor over theland, and he it was thatsold to all thepeople of theland: andJoseph'sbrethrencame, and boweddown themselves before him with theirfaces to the earth.
AndJosephsaw hisbrethren, and heknew them, but made himselfstrange unto them, andspakeroughly unto them; and hesaid unto them,Whencecome ye? And theysaid, From theland ofCanaan tobuy food.

And theysaid unto him, Nay, mylord, but tobuyfood are thyservants come.
We are alloneman'ssons; we aretrue men, thyservants are no spies.
And hesaid unto them, Nay, but tosee thenakedness of theland ye are come.
And theysaid, Thyservants aretwelvebrethren, thesons ofoneman in theland ofCanaan; and, behold, theyoungest is thisday with ourfather, and one is not.
AndJosephsaid unto them, That is it that Ispake unto you, saying, Ye are spies:
Hereby ye shall beproved: By thelife ofPharaoh ye shall not goforth hence, except youryoungestbrother come hither.
Sendone of you, and let himfetch yourbrother, and ye shall be kept inprison, that yourwords may beproved, whether there be anytruthin you: orelse by thelife ofPharaoh surely ye are spies.

And theysaidone toanother, We areverilyguilty concerning ourbrother, inthat wesaw theanguish of hissoul, when hebesought us, and we would nothear; therefore is thisdistress come upon us.
AndReubenanswered them, saying, SpakeI not unto you, saying, Do notsin against thechild; and ye would nothear? therefore, behold, also hisblood is required.
And theyknew not thatJosephunderstood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter.
And he turned himselfabout from them, andwept; and returned to themagain, andcommuned with them, andtook from themSimeon, andbound him before their eyes.
ThenJosephcommanded tofill theirsacks withcorn, and torestore everyman'smoney into hissack, and togive themprovision for theway: andthus did he m.
And theyladed theirasses with thecorn, and departed thence.
And asone of themopened hissack togive hisassprovender in theinn, heespied hismoney; for, behold, it was in hissack's mouth.
And hesaid unto hisbrethren, Mymoney isrestored; and,lo, it is even in mysack: and theirheartfailed them, and they wereafraid, sayingone toanother, What is this thatGod hath done unto us?
And theycame untoJacob theirfather unto theland ofCanaan, andtold him all thatbefell unto them; saying,
Theman, who is thelord of theland, spakeroughly to us, andtook us forspies of the country.
And wesaid unto him, We aretrue men; we are no spies:
We betwelvebrethren, sons of ourfather;one is not, and theyoungest is thisday with ourfather in theland of Canaan.
And theman, thelord of thecountry, said unto us, Hereby shall Iknow that ye aretrue men;leaveone of yourbrethren here with me, andtake food for thefamine of yourhouseholds, and be gone:
Andbring youryoungestbrother unto me: then shall Iknow that ye are nospies, but that ye aretrue men: so will Ideliver you yourbrother, and ye shalltraffick in the land.
And it came to pass as theyemptied theirsacks, that, behold, everyman'sbundle ofmoney was in hissack: and when both they and theirfathersaw thebundles ofmoney, they were afraid.
AndJacob theirfathersaid unto them, Me have yebereaved of my children:Joseph is not, andSimeon is not, and ye willtake Benjamin away: all these things are against me.
AndReubenspake unto hisfather, saying,Slay mytwosons, if Ibring him not to thee:deliver him into myhand, and I will bring him to thee again.
And hesaid, Myson shall not godown with you; for hisbrother isdead, and he isleft alone: ifmischiefbefall him by theway in the which yego, then shall ye bringdown my grayhairs withsorrow to the grave.
