Thefountains also of thedeep and thewindows ofheaven werestopped, and therain fromheaven was restrained;
And thewatersreturned from off theearthcontinually: and after theend of thehundred andfiftydays thewaters were abated.
And thearkrested in theseventhmonth, on theseventeenthday of themonth, upon themountains of Ararat.
And thewatersdecreasedcontinuallyuntil thetenthmonth: in thetenth month, on thefirst day of themonth, were thetops of themountains seen.
And it came to pass at theend offortydays, thatNoahopened thewindow of theark which he had made:
And he sentforth araven, which wentforthto andfro, until thewaters were driedup from off the earth.
Also he sentforth adove from him, tosee if thewaters wereabated from off theface of the ground;
But thedovefound norest for thesole of herfoot, and shereturned unto him into theark, for thewaters were on theface of the wholeearth: then he putforth hishand, and tookher, and pulled herin unto him into the ark.
And hestayed yetothersevendays; andagain he sentforth thedove out of the ark;
And thedove camein to him in theevening; and, lo, in hermouth was anoliveleaf plucktoff: soNoahknew that thewaters wereabated from off the earth.
And hestayed yetothersevendays; and sentforth thedove; whichreturned notagain unto him any more.
And it came to pass in thesixhundredth and firstyear, in thefirst month, thefirst day of themonth, thewaters were driedup from off theearth: andNoahremoved thecovering of theark, andlooked, and, behold, theface of theground was dry.
And in thesecondmonth, on theseven andtwentiethday of themonth, was theearth dried.
AndGodspake untoNoah, saying,
Goforth of theark, thou, and thywife, and thysons, and thysons' wives with thee.
Bringforth with thee every livingthing that is with thee, of allflesh, both offowl, and ofcattle, and of every creepingthing thatcreepeth upon theearth; that they may breedabundantly in theearth, and befruitful, andmultiply upon the earth.
AndNoah wentforth, and hissons, and hiswife, and hissons' wives with him:
Everybeast, every creepingthing, and everyfowl, andwhatsoevercreepeth upon theearth, after theirkinds, wentforth out of the ark.
AndNoahbuilded analtar unto theLORD; andtook of everycleanbeast, and of everycleanfowl, andoffered burntofferings on the altar.
And theLORDsmelled asweetsavour; and theLORDsaidin hisheart, I will notagaincurse theground any more forman'ssake; for theimagination ofman'sheart isevil from hisyouth; neither will Iagainsmite any more every thingliving, as I have done.
While theearthremaineth,seedtime andharvest, andcold andheat, andsummer andwinter, andday andnight shall not cease.
