OIsrael,return unto theLORD thyGod; for thou hastfallen by thine iniquity.
2Take with youwords, andturn to theLORD:say unto him, Takeaway alliniquity, andreceive usgraciously: so will werender thecalves of our lips.
3Asshur shall notsave us; we will notride uponhorses: neither will wesay any more to thework of ourhands, Ye are ourgods: for in thee thefatherless findeth mercy.
4 I willheal theirbacksliding, I willlove themfreely: for mineanger is turned away from him.
5 I will be as thedew untoIsrael: he shallgrow as thelily, and castforth hisroots as Lebanon.
6 Hisbranches shallspread, and hisbeauty shall be as the olivetree, and hissmell as Lebanon.
7 They thatdwell under hisshadow shallreturn; they shallrevive as thecorn, andgrow as thevine: thescent thereof shall be as thewine of Lebanon.
8Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more withidols? I haveheard him, andobserved him: I am like agreen firtree. From me is thyfruit found.
9 Who iswise, and he shallunderstand these things?prudent, and he shallknow them? for theways of theLORD areright, and thejust shallwalk in them: but thetransgressors shall fall therein.
