Come, and let usreturn unto theLORD: for he hathtorn, and he willheal us; he hathsmitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After twodays will herevive us: in thethirdday he will raise usup, and we shalllive in his sight.
3 Then shall weknow, if wefollow on toknow theLORD: his goingforth isprepared as themorning; and he shallcome unto us as therain, as thelatter and formerrain unto the earth.
4 OEphraim, what shall Ido unto thee? OJudah, what shall Ido unto thee? for yourgoodness is as amorningcloud, and as theearlydew it goeth away.
5 Therefore have Ihewed them by theprophets; I haveslain them by thewords of mymouth: and thyjudgments are as thelight that goeth forth.
6 For Idesiredmercy, and notsacrifice; and theknowledge ofGod more than burnt offerings.
7 But they likemen havetransgressed thecovenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
8Gilead is acity of them thatworkiniquity, and ispolluted with blood.
9 And astroops of robberswait for aman, so thecompany ofpriestsmurder in theway byconsent: for theycommit lewdness.
10 I haveseen an horriblething in thehouse ofIsrael: there is thewhoredom ofEphraim,Israel is defiled.
11 Also, OJudah, he hathset anharvest for thee, when Ireturned thecaptivity of my people.
