Isaiah
Chapter 16
KJV · Textus Receptus
Send ye thelamb to theruler of theland fromSela to thewilderness, unto themount of thedaughter of Zion.
2 For it shall be, that, as awanderingbird castout of thenest, so thedaughters ofMoab shall be at thefords of Arnon.
3Takecounsel,executejudgment;make thyshadow as thenight in themidst of thenoonday;hide theoutcasts;bewray not him that wandereth.
4 Let mineoutcastsdwell with thee,Moab;be thou acovert to them from theface of thespoiler: for theextortioner is at anend, thespoilerceaseth, theoppressors areconsumed out of the land.
5 And inmercy shall thethrone beestablished: and he shallsit upon it intruth in thetabernacle ofDavid, judging, andseekingjudgment, andhasting righteousness.
6 We haveheard of thepride ofMoab; he isveryproud: even of hishaughtiness, and hispride, and hiswrath: but his lies shall not be so.
7 Therefore shallMoabhowl forMoab, every one shallhowl: for thefoundations ofKirhareseth shall yemourn; surely they are stricken.
8 For thefields ofHeshbonlanguish, and thevine ofSibmah: thelords of theheathen have brokendown the principalplants thereof, they arecome even untoJazer, theywandered through thewilderness: herbranches are stretchedout, they are goneover the sea.
9 Therefore I willbewail with theweeping ofJazer thevine ofSibmah: I willwater thee with mytears, OHeshbon, andElealeh: for theshouting for thy summerfruits and for thyharvest is fallen.
10 Andgladness is takenaway, andjoy out of the plentifulfield; and in thevineyards there shall be nosinging, neither shall there beshouting: thetreaders shall treadout nowine in theirpresses; I have made their vintageshouting to cease.
11 Wherefore mybowels shallsound like anharp forMoab, and mine inwardparts for Kirharesh.
12 And it shall come to pass, when it isseen thatMoab isweary on the highplace, that he shallcome to hissanctuary topray; but he shall not prevail.
13 This is theword that theLORD hathspoken concerningMoab since that time.
14 But now theLORD hathspoken, saying, Withinthreeyears, as theyears of anhireling, and theglory ofMoab shall becontemned, with all thatgreatmultitude; and theremnant shall beverysmall andfeeble.
