Chapter 21
KJV · Textus Receptus
Theburden of thedesert of thesea. Aswhirlwinds in thesouthpass through; so itcometh from thedesert, from aterrible land.
Agrievousvision isdeclared unto me; the treacherousdealer dealethtreacherously, and thespoilerspoileth. Goup, OElam:besiege, OMedia; all thesighing thereof have I made to cease.
Therefore are myloinsfilled withpain:pangs have takenhold upon me, as thepangs of a woman thattravaileth: I was boweddown at thehearing of it; I wasdismayed at the seeing of it.
Myheartpanted, fearfulnessaffrighted me: thenight of mypleasure hath heturned into fear unto me.
Prepare thetable, watch in thewatchtower, eat, drink:arise, yeprinces, andanoint the shield.
For thus hath theLordsaid unto me,Go,set awatchman, let himdeclare what he seeth.
And hesaw achariot with acouple ofhorsemen, achariot ofasses, and achariot ofcamels; and hehearkeneddiligently withmuch heed:
And hecried, Alion: Mylord, Istandcontinually upon thewatchtower in thedaytime, and I amset in myward whole nights:
And, behold, herecometh achariot ofmen, with acouple ofhorsemen. And heanswered andsaid,Babylon isfallen, isfallen; and all the gravenimages of hergods he hathbroken unto the ground.
O mythreshing, and thecorn of myfloor: that which I haveheard of theLORD ofhosts, theGod ofIsrael, have I declared unto you.
Theburden ofDumah. Hecalleth to me out ofSeir,Watchman, what of thenight?Watchman, what of the night?
Thewatchmansaid, Themorningcometh, and also thenight: if ye willenquire, enquire ye:return, come.
Theburden uponArabia. In theforest inArabia shall yelodge, O ye travellingcompanies of Dedanim.
Theinhabitants of theland ofTemabroughtwater tohim that wasthirsty, theyprevented with theirbread him that fled.
For theyfledfrom theswords, from thedrawnsword, andfrom thebentbow, andfrom thegrievousness of war.
For thus hath theLordsaid unto me, Within ayear, according to theyears of anhireling, and all theglory ofKedar shall fail:
And theresidue of thenumber ofarchers, the mightymen of thechildren ofKedar, shall bediminished: for theLORDGod ofIsrael hath spoken it.
