Woe to thee thatspoilest, and thou wast notspoiled; and dealesttreacherously, and they dealt nottreacherously with thee! when thou shaltcease tospoil, thou shalt bespoiled; and when thou shalt make anend to dealtreacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2 OLORD, begracious unto us; we havewaited for thee: be thou theirarm everymorning, oursalvation also in thetime of trouble.
3 At thenoise of thetumult thepeoplefled; at the liftingup of thyself thenations were scattered.
4 And yourspoil shall begathered like thegathering of thecaterpiller: as the running to andfro oflocusts shall he run upon them.
5 TheLORD isexalted; for hedwelleth onhigh: he hathfilledZion withjudgment and righteousness.
6 Andwisdom andknowledge shall be thestability of thytimes, andstrength ofsalvation: thefear of theLORD is his treasure.
7 Behold, their valiantones shallcrywithout: theambassadors ofpeace shallweep bitterly.
8 Thehighways liewaste, the wayfaringmanceaseth: he hathbroken thecovenant, he hathdespised thecities, heregardeth no man.
9 Theearthmourneth andlanguisheth:Lebanon isashamed and hewndown:Sharon is like awilderness; andBashan andCarmel shake off their fruits.
10 Now will Irise,saith theLORD; now will I beexalted; now will I lift up myself.
11 Ye shallconceivechaff, ye shall bringforthstubble: yourbreath, asfire, shall devour you.
12 And thepeople shall be as theburnings oflime: asthorns cutup shall they beburned in the fire.
13Hear, ye that are faroff, what I havedone; and, ye that arenear,acknowledge my might.
14 Thesinners inZion areafraid;fearfulness hathsurprised thehypocrites. Who among us shalldwell with thedevouringfire? who among us shalldwell witheverlasting burnings?
15 He thatwalkethrighteously, andspeakethuprightly; he thatdespiseth thegain ofoppressions, thatshaketh hishands fromholding ofbribes, thatstoppeth hisears fromhearing ofblood, andshutteth hiseyes fromseeing evil;
16 He shalldwell onhigh: his place ofdefence shall be themunitions ofrocks:bread shall begiven him; hiswaters shall be sure.
17 Thineeyes shallsee theking in hisbeauty: they shallbehold theland that is very far off.
18 Thineheart shallmeditateterror. Where is thescribe? where is thereceiver? where is he thatcounted the towers?
19 Thou shalt notsee afiercepeople, apeople of adeeperspeech than thou canstperceive; of astammeringtongue, that thou canst not understand.
20Look uponZion, thecity of oursolemnities: thineeyes shallseeJerusalem aquiethabitation, atabernacle that shall not be takendown; not one of thestakes thereof shallever beremoved, neither shall any of thecords thereof be broken.
21 But there thegloriousLORD will be unto us aplace ofbroadrivers andstreams; wherein shallgonogalley withoars, neither shallgallantship pass thereby.
22 For theLORD is ourjudge, theLORD is ourlawgiver, theLORD is ourking; he will save us.
23 Thytacklings areloosed; they could notwellstrengthen theirmast, they could notspread thesail: then is theprey of agreatspoildivided; thelametake the prey.
24 And theinhabitant shall notsay, I amsick: thepeople thatdwell therein shall beforgiven their iniquity.
