Behold myservant, whom Iuphold; mineelect, in whom mysouldelighteth; I haveput myspirit upon him: he shall bringforthjudgment to the Gentiles.
2 He shall notcry, nor liftup, nor cause hisvoice to beheard in the street.
3 Abruisedreed shall he notbreak, and thesmokingflax shall he notquench: he shall bringforthjudgment unto truth.
4 He shall notfail nor bediscouraged, till he havesetjudgment in theearth: and theisles shallwait for his law.
5 ThussaithGod theLORD, he thatcreated theheavens, and stretched themout; he that spreadforth theearth, and that which comethout of it; he thatgivethbreath unto thepeople upon it, andspirit to them that walk therein:
6 I theLORD havecalled thee inrighteousness, and willhold thinehand, and willkeep thee, andgive thee for acovenant of thepeople, for alight of the Gentiles;
7 Toopen theblindeyes, to bringout theprisoners from theprison, and them thatsit indarkness out of theprison house.
8 I am theLORD: that is myname: and myglory will I notgive toanother, neither mypraise to graven images.
9 Behold, the formerthings are come topass, and newthings do Ideclare: before they springforth I tell you of them.
10Sing unto theLORD anewsong, and hispraise from theend of theearth, ye that godown to thesea, and all that istherein; theisles, and the inhabitants thereof.
11 Let thewilderness and thecities thereof liftup their voice, thevillages thatKedar dothinhabit: let theinhabitants of therocksing, let themshout from thetop of the mountains.
12 Let themgiveglory unto theLORD, anddeclare hispraise in the islands.
13 TheLORD shall goforth as a mightyman, he shall stirupjealousy like aman ofwar: he shallcry, yea,roar; he shallprevail against his enemies.
14 I have longtime holden mypeace; I have beenstill, andrefrained myself: now will Icry like a travailingwoman; I willdestroy anddevour at once.
15 I will makewastemountains andhills, and dryup all theirherbs; and I willmake theriversislands, and I will dryup the pools.
16 And I willbring theblind by away that theyknew not; I willlead them inpaths that they have notknown: I willmakedarknesslightbefore them, and crookedthingsstraight. Thesethings will Ido unto them, and not forsake them.
17 They shall beturnedback, they shall begreatlyashamed, thattrust in gravenimages, thatsay to the moltenimages, Ye are our gods.
18Hear, yedeaf; andlook, yeblind, that ye may see.
19 Who isblind, but myservant? ordeaf, as mymessenger that Isent? who isblind as he that isperfect, andblind as theLORD'S servant?
20Seeing manythings, but thouobservest not;opening theears, but he heareth not.
21 TheLORD is wellpleased for hisrighteousness' sake; he willmagnify thelaw, and make it honourable.
22 But this is apeoplerobbed andspoiled; they are all of themsnared inholes, and they arehid inprisonhouses: they are for aprey, and nonedelivereth; for aspoil, and nonesaith, Restore.
23 Who among you will giveear to this? who willhearken andhear for the time to come?
24 WhogaveJacob for aspoil, andIsrael to therobbers? did not theLORD, he againstwhom we havesinned? for theywould notwalk in hisways, neither were theyobedient unto his law.
25 Therefore he hathpoured upon him thefury of hisanger, and thestrength ofbattle: and it hath set him onfire roundabout, yet heknew not; and itburned him, yet helaid it not to heart.
