Chapter 45
KJV · Textus Receptus
Thussaith theLORD to hisanointed, toCyrus, whose righthand I haveholden, tosubduenationsbefore him; and I willloose theloins ofkings, toopenbefore him the two leavedgates; and thegates shall not be shut;
I willgobefore thee, andmake the crookedplacesstraight: I will break inpieces thegates ofbrass, and cut insunder thebars of iron:
And I willgive thee thetreasures ofdarkness, and hiddenriches of secretplaces, that thou mayestknow that I, theLORD, whichcall thee by thyname, am theGod of Israel.
ForJacob myservant's sake, andIsrael mineelect, I have evencalled thee by thyname: I havesurnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
I am theLORD, and there is none else, there is noGodbeside me: Igirded thee, though thou hast not known me:
That they mayknow from therising of thesun, and from thewest, that there isnonebeside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
Iform thelight, andcreatedarkness: Imakepeace, andcreateevil: I theLORD do all these things.
Dropdown, yeheavens, fromabove, and let theskies pourdownrighteousness: let theearthopen, and let them bringforthsalvation, and letrighteousness springuptogether; I theLORD have created it.
Woe unto him thatstriveth with hisMaker! Let thepotsherd strive with thepotsherds of theearth. Shall theclaysay to him thatfashioneth it, Whatmakest thou? or thywork, He hath no hands?
Woe unto him thatsaith unto hisfather, Whatbegettest thou? or to thewoman, What hast thou brought forth?
Thussaith theLORD, the HolyOne ofIsrael, and hisMaker,Ask me of things tocome concerning mysons, and concerning thework of myhands command ye me.
I havemade theearth, andcreatedman upon it: I, even myhands, have stretchedout theheavens, and all theirhost have I commanded.
I have raised himup inrighteousness, and I willdirect all hisways: he shallbuild mycity, and he shall letgo mycaptives, not forprice norreward, saith theLORD of hosts.
Thussaith theLORD, Thelabour ofEgypt, andmerchandise ofEthiopia and of theSabeans, men ofstature, shall comeover unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shallcomeafter thee; inchains they shall comeover, and they shall falldown unto thee, they shall makesupplication unto thee, saying, SurelyGod is in thee; and there is none else, there isno God.
Verily thou art aGod thathidest thyself, OGod ofIsrael, the Saviour.
They shall beashamed, and alsoconfounded, all of them: they shallgo toconfusiontogether that aremakers of idols.
ButIsrael shall besaved in theLORD with aneverlastingsalvation: ye shall not beashamed norconfoundedworld without end.
For thussaith theLORD thatcreated theheavens;God himself thatformed theearth andmade it; he hathestablished it, hecreated it not invain, heformed it to beinhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
I have notspoken insecret, in adarkplace of theearth: Isaid not unto theseed ofJacob,Seek ye me invain: I theLORDspeakrighteousness, Ideclare things that are right.
Assemble yourselves andcome; drawneartogether, ye that areescaped of thenations: they have noknowledge that setup thewood of their gravenimage, andpray unto agod that cannot save.
Tell ye, and bring themnear; yea, let them takecounseltogether: who hathdeclared this from ancienttime? who hathtold it from that time? have not I theLORD? and there is noGod elsebeside me; ajustGod and aSaviour; there isnone beside me.
Look unto me, and be yesaved, all theends of theearth: for I am God, and there is none else.
I havesworn by myself, theword is goneout of mymouth inrighteousness, and shall notreturn, That unto me everyknee shallbow, everytongue shall swear.
Surely, shall onesay, in theLORD have Irighteousness andstrength: even to him shall mencome; and all that areincensed against him shall be ashamed.
In theLORD shall all theseed ofIsrael bejustified, and shall glory.
