Theystoop, they bowdowntogether; theycould notdeliver theburden, butthemselves aregone into captivity.
Hearken unto me, Ohouse ofJacob, and all theremnant of thehouse ofIsrael, which areborne by me from thebelly, which arecarried from the womb:
And even to your oldage I am he; and even to hoarhairs will Icarry you: I havemade, and I willbear; even I willcarry, and will deliver you.
To whom will yeliken me, and make meequal, andcompare me, that we may be like?
Theylavishgold out of thebag, andweighsilver in thebalance, andhire agoldsmith; and hemaketh it agod: they falldown, yea, they worship.
Theybear him upon theshoulder, theycarry him, and set him in hisplace, and hestandeth; from hisplace shall he notremove: yea, one shallcry unto him, yet can he notanswer, norsave him out of his trouble.
Remember this, and shew yourselvesmen: bring itagain tomind, O ye transgressors.
Remember the formerthings ofold: for I amGod, and there is none else; I amGod, and there isnone like me,
Declaring theend from thebeginning, and from ancienttimes the things that are not yetdone, saying, Mycounsel shallstand, and I willdo all my pleasure:
Calling a ravenousbird from theeast, theman that executeth mycounsel from afarcountry: yea, I havespoken it, I will alsobring it to pass; I havepurposed it, I will also do it.
Hearken unto me, yestouthearted, that are farfrom righteousness:
I bringnear myrighteousness; it shall not be faroff, and mysalvation shall nottarry: and I willplacesalvation inZion forIsrael my glory.
