Chapter 50
KJV · Textus Receptus
Thussaith theLORD, Where is thebill of yourmother'sdivorcement, whom I have putaway? or which of mycreditors is it to whom I havesold you? Behold, for youriniquities have yesold yourselves, and for yourtransgressions is yourmother put away.
2 Wherefore, when Icame, was there noman? when Icalled, was there none toanswer? Is myhandshortened atall, that it cannotredeem? or have I nopower todeliver? behold, at myrebuke I dryup thesea, Imake therivers awilderness: theirfishstinketh, because there is nowater, anddieth for thirst.
3 Iclothe theheavens withblackness, and Imakesackcloth their covering.
4 TheLordGOD hathgiven me thetongue of thelearned, that I shouldknow how tospeak aword in season to him that isweary: hewakenethmorning bymorning, hewakeneth mineear tohear as the learned.
5 TheLordGOD hathopened mineear, and I was notrebellious, neither turnedaway back.
6 Igave myback to thesmiters, and mycheeks to them that pluckedoff the hair: Ihid not myface fromshame and spitting.
7 For theLordGOD willhelp me; therefore shall I not beconfounded: therefore have Iset myface like aflint, and Iknow that I shall not be ashamed.
8 He isnear thatjustifieth me; who willcontend with me? let usstandtogether: who is mineadversary? let him come near to me.
9 Behold, theLordGOD willhelp me; who is he that shallcondemn me? lo, they all shall waxold as agarment; themoth shall eat them up.
10 Who is among you thatfeareth theLORD, thatobeyeth thevoice of hisservant, thatwalketh indarkness, and hath nolight? let himtrust in thename of theLORD, andstay upon his God.
11 Behold, all ye thatkindle afire, that compass yourselvesabout withsparks:walk in thelight of yourfire, and in thesparks that ye havekindled. This shall ye have of minehand; ye shall liedown in sorrow.
