Sing, Obarren, thou that didst notbear; breakforth intosinging, and cryaloud, thou that didst not travail withchild: formore are thechildren of thedesolate than thechildren of the marriedwife,saith the LORD.
2Enlarge theplace of thytent, and let them stretchforth thecurtains of thinehabitations:spare not,lengthen thycords, andstrengthen thy stakes;
3 For thou shalt breakforth on the righthand and on theleft; and thyseed shallinherit theGentiles, and make thedesolatecities to be inhabited.
4Fear not; for thou shalt not beashamed: neither be thouconfounded; for thou shalt not be put toshame: for thou shaltforget theshame of thyyouth, and shalt notremember thereproach of thy widowhood any more.
5 For thyMaker is thinehusband; theLORD ofhosts is hisname; and thyRedeemer the HolyOne ofIsrael; TheGod of the wholeearth shall he be called.
6 For theLORD hathcalled thee as awomanforsaken andgrieved inspirit, and awife ofyouth, when thou wastrefused,saith thy God.
7 For asmallmoment have Iforsaken thee; but withgreatmercies will I gather thee.
8 In alittlewrath Ihid myface from thee for amoment; but witheverlastingkindness will I havemercy on thee,saith theLORD thy Redeemer.
9 For this is as thewaters ofNoah unto me: for as I havesworn that thewaters ofNoah should no more goover theearth; so have Isworn that I would not bewroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
10 For themountains shalldepart, and thehills beremoved; but mykindness shall notdepart from thee, neither shall thecovenant of mypeace beremoved,saith theLORD that hath mercy on thee.
11 O thouafflicted, tossed withtempest, and notcomforted, behold, I willlay thystones with faircolours, and lay thyfoundations with sapphires.
12 And I willmake thywindows ofagates, and thygates ofcarbuncles, and all thyborders ofpleasant stones.
13 And all thychildren shall betaught of theLORD; andgreat shall be thepeace of thy children.
14 Inrighteousness shalt thou beestablished: thou shalt befar fromoppression; for thou shalt notfear: and fromterror; for it shall not come near thee.
15 Behold, they shallsurely gathertogether, butnot by me:whosoever shall gathertogether against thee shall fall for thy sake.
16 Behold, I havecreated thesmith thatbloweth thecoals in thefire, and that bringethforth aninstrument for hiswork; and I havecreated thewaster to destroy.
17 Noweapon that isformed against thee shallprosper; and everytongue that shallrise against thee injudgment thou shaltcondemn. This is theheritage of theservants of theLORD, and theirrighteousness is of me,saith the LORD.
