Job
Chapter 42
KJV · Textus Receptus
ThenJobanswered theLORD, and said,
2 Iknow that thou canstdo every thing, and that nothought can be withholden from thee.
3 Who is he thathidethcounsel withoutknowledge? therefore have Iuttered that Iunderstood not; things toowonderful for me, which I knew not.
4Hear, I beseech thee, and I willspeak: I willdemand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
5 I haveheard of thee by thehearing of theear: but now mineeye seeth thee.
6 Wherefore Iabhor myself, andrepent indust and ashes.
7 And it was so, thatafter theLORD hadspoken thesewords untoJob, theLORDsaid toEliphaz theTemanite, Mywrath iskindled against thee, and against thytwofriends: for ye have notspoken of me the thing that isright, as myservant Job hath.
8 Thereforetake unto you nowsevenbullocks andsevenrams, andgo to myservantJob, and offerup for yourselves a burntoffering; and myservantJob shallpray for you: forhim will Iaccept: lest Ideal with you after yourfolly, in that ye have notspoken of me the thing which isright, like myservant Job.
9 SoEliphaz theTemanite andBildad theShuhite andZophar theNaamathitewent, anddid according as theLORDcommanded them: theLORD alsoacceptedJob.
10 And theLORDturned thecaptivity ofJob, when heprayed for hisfriends: also theLORDgaveJob twice as much as he had before.
11 Thencame there unto him all hisbrethren, and all hissisters, and all they that had been of hisacquaintancebefore, and dideatbread with him in hishouse: and theybemoaned him, andcomforted him over all theevil that theLORD hadbrought upon him: everyman alsogave hima piece ofmoney, and everyone anearring of gold.
12 So theLORDblessed the latterend ofJob more than hisbeginning: for he hadfourteenthousandsheep, andsixthousandcamels, and athousandyoke ofoxen, and athousand she asses.
13 He had alsosevensons andthree daughters.
14 And hecalled thename of thefirst,Jemima; and thename of thesecond,Kezia; and thename of thethird, Kerenhappuch.
15 And in all theland were nowomenfound sofair as thedaughters ofJob: and theirfathergave theminheritanceamong their brethren.
16After thislivedJob anhundred andfortyyears, andsaw hissons, and hissons'sons, evenfour generations.
