And there was aman ofmountEphraim, whosename was Micah.
2 And hesaid unto hismother, The elevenhundred shekels ofsilver that weretaken from thee, about which thoucursedst, andspakest of also in mineears, behold, thesilver is with me; Itook it. And hismothersaid,Blessed be thou of theLORD, my son.
3 And when he hadrestored the elevenhundred shekels ofsilver to hismother, hismothersaid, I hadwhollydedicated thesilver unto theLORD from myhand for myson, tomake a gravenimage and a moltenimage: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
4 Yet herestored themoney unto hismother; and hismothertook twohundred shekels ofsilver, andgave them to thefounder, whomade thereof a gravenimage and a moltenimage: and they were in thehouse of Micah.
5 And themanMicah had anhouse ofgods, andmade anephod, andteraphim, andconsecratedone of hissons, who became his priest.
6 In thosedays there was noking inIsrael, but everymandid that which wasright in his own eyes.
7 And there was a youngman out ofBethlehemjudah of thefamily ofJudah, who was aLevite, and he sojourned there.
8 And themandeparted out of thecity fromBethlehemjudah tosojourn where he couldfind a place: and hecame tomountEphraim to thehouse ofMicah, as hejourneyed.
9 AndMicahsaid unto him,Whencecomest thou? And hesaid unto him, I am aLevite ofBethlehemjudah, and Igo tosojourn where I may find a place.
10 AndMicahsaid unto him,Dwell with me, and be unto me afather and apriest, and I willgive theeten shekels ofsilver by theyear, and asuit ofapparel, and thyvictuals. So theLevite went in.
11 And theLevite wascontent todwell with theman; and the youngman was unto him asone of his sons.
12 AndMicahconsecrated theLevite; and the youngman became hispriest, and was in thehouse of Micah.
13 ThensaidMicah, Nowknow I that theLORD will do megood, seeing I have aLevite to my priest.
