And when thepeoplecomplained, itdispleased theLORD: and theLORDheard it; and hisanger waskindled; and thefire of theLORDburnt among them, andconsumed them that were in the uttermostparts of the camp.
2 And thepeoplecried untoMoses; and whenMosesprayed unto theLORD, thefire was quenched.
3 And hecalled thename oftheplaceTaberah: because thefire of theLORD burnt among them.
4 And the mixtmultitude that wasamong them fell alusting: and thechildren ofIsrael alsoweptagain, andsaid, Who shall give usflesh to eat?
5 Weremember thefish, which we dideat inEgyptfreely; thecucumbers, and themelons, and theleeks, and theonions, and the garlick:
6 But now oursoul is driedaway: there is nothing at all,beside thismanna, before our eyes.
7 And themanna was ascorianderseed, and thecolour thereof as thecolour of bdellium.
8 And thepeople wentabout, andgathered it, andground it inmills, orbeat it in amortar, andbaked it inpans, andmadecakes of it: and thetaste of it was as thetaste offresh oil.
9 And when thedewfell upon thecamp in thenight, themanna fell upon it.
10 ThenMosesheard thepeopleweep throughout theirfamilies, everyman in thedoor of histent: and theanger of theLORD waskindledgreatly;Moses also wasdispleased.
11 AndMosessaid unto theLORD, Wherefore hast thouafflicted thyservant? and wherefore have I notfoundfavour in thysight, that thoulayest theburden of all this people upon me?
12 Have Iconceived all thispeople? have Ibegotten them, that thou shouldestsay unto me,Carry them in thybosom, as a nursingfatherbeareth the suckingchild, unto theland which thouswarest unto their fathers?
13Whence should I haveflesh togive unto all thispeople? for theyweep unto me,saying,Give usflesh, that we may eat.
14 I am notable tobear all thispeoplealone, because it is too heavy for me.
15 And if thoudeal thus with me,kill me, I pray thee, out ofhand, if I havefoundfavour in thysight; and let me notsee my wretchedness.
16 And theLORDsaid untoMoses,Gather unto meseventymen of theelders ofIsrael, whom thouknowest to be theelders of thepeople, andofficers over them; andbring them unto thetabernacle of thecongregation, that they may stand there with thee.
17 And I will comedown andtalk with thee there: and I willtake of thespirit which is upon thee, and willput it upon them; and they shallbear theburden of thepeople with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.
18 Andsay thou unto thepeople,Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shalleatflesh: for ye havewept in theears of theLORD,saying, Who shall give usflesh toeat? for it waswell with us inEgypt: therefore theLORD willgive youflesh, and ye shall eat.
19 Ye shall noteatoneday, nor twodays, norfivedays, neithertendays, nortwenty days;
20 But even a wholemonth, until it comeout at yournostrils, and it beloathsome unto you:because that ye havedespised theLORD which isamong you, and haveweptbefore him,saying, Why came weforth out of Egypt?
21 AndMosessaid, Thepeople,among whom I am, aresixhundredthousandfootmen; and thou hastsaid, I willgive themflesh, that they mayeat awhole month.
22 Shall theflocks and theherds beslain for them, tosuffice them? or shall all thefish of thesea be gatheredtogether for them, to suffice them?
23 And theLORDsaid untoMoses, Is theLORD'Shand waxedshort? thou shaltsee now whether myword shall come to pass unto thee or not.
24 AndMoses wentout, andtold thepeople thewords of theLORD, andgathered theseventymen of theelders of thepeople, andset them roundabout the tabernacle.
25 And theLORD camedown in acloud, andspake unto him, andtook of thespirit that was upon him, andgave it unto theseventyelders: and it came to pass, that, when thespiritrested upon them, theyprophesied, and did not cease.
26 But thereremainedtwo of themen in thecamp, thename of theone wasEldad, and thename of theotherMedad: and thespiritrested upon them; and they were of them that werewritten, but went notout unto thetabernacle: and theyprophesied in the camp.
27 And thereran a youngman, andtoldMoses, andsaid,Eldad andMedad doprophesy in the camp.
28 AndJoshua theson ofNun, theservant ofMoses, one of his youngmen,answered andsaid, MylordMoses, forbid them.
29 AndMosessaid unto him,Enviest thou for my sake? would God that alltheLORD'Speople wereprophets, and that theLORD wouldput his spirit upon them!
30 AndMosesgat him into thecamp, he and theelders of Israel.
31 And there wentforth awind from theLORD, andbroughtquails from thesea, and let themfall by thecamp, as it were aday'sjourney on thisside, and as it were aday'sjourney on the otherside, roundabout thecamp, and as it were twocubits high upon theface of the earth.
32 And thepeople stoodup all thatday, and all thatnight, and all thenextday, and theygathered thequails: he that gatheredleastgatheredtenhomers: and theyspread them allabroad for themselves roundabout the camp.
33 And while theflesh wasyet between theirteeth, ere it waschewed, thewrath of theLORD waskindled against thepeople, and theLORDsmote thepeople with a very great plague.
34And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.
35And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
