2 Surely I am morebrutish than anyman, and have not theunderstanding of a man.
3 I neitherlearnedwisdom, norhave theknowledge of the holy.
4 Who hath ascendedup intoheaven, ordescended? who hathgathered thewind in hisfists? who hathbound thewaters in agarment? who hathestablished all theends of theearth? what is hisname, and what is hisson'sname, if thou canst tell?
5 Everyword ofGod ispure: he is ashield unto them that put their trust in him.
6Add thou not unto hiswords, lest hereprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
7Two things have Irequired of thee;deny me them not before I die:
8 Removefar from mevanity andlies:give me neitherpoverty norriches;feed me withfood convenient for me:
9 Lest I befull, anddeny thee, andsay, Who is theLORD? or lest I bepoor, andsteal, andtake thename of my God in vain.
10Accuse not aservant unto hismaster, lest hecurse thee, and thou be found guilty.
11 There is ageneration thatcurseth theirfather, and doth notbless their mother.
12 There is ageneration that arepure in their owneyes, and yet is notwashed from their filthiness.
13 There is ageneration, O howlofty are theireyes! and theireyelids are lifted up.
14 There is ageneration, whoseteeth are asswords, and their jawteeth asknives, todevour thepoor from off theearth, and theneedy from among men.
15 Thehorseleach hathtwodaughters, crying,Give,give. There arethree things that are neversatisfied, yea,four thingssay not, It is enough:
16 Thegrave; and thebarrenwomb; theearth that is notfilled withwater; and thefire thatsaith not, It is enough.
17 Theeye thatmocketh at hisfather, anddespiseth toobey hismother, theravens of thevalley shall pick itout, and theyoungeagles shall eat it.
18 There bethree things which are toowonderful for me, yea,four which I know not:
19 Theway of aneagle in theair; theway of aserpent upon arock; theway of aship in themidst of thesea; and theway of aman with a maid.
20 Such is theway of anadulterouswoman; sheeateth, andwipeth hermouth, andsaith, I havedone no wickedness.
21 Forthree things theearth isdisquieted, and forfour which itcannot bear:
22 For aservant when hereigneth; and afool when he isfilled with meat;
23 For anodious woman when she ismarried; and anhandmaid that isheir to her mistress.
24 There befour things which arelittle upon theearth, but they areexceeding wise:
25 Theants are apeople notstrong, yet theyprepare theirmeat in the summer;
26 Theconies are but afeeblefolk, yetmake they theirhouses in the rocks;
27 Thelocusts have noking, yet go theyforth all of them by bands;
28 Thespider takethhold with herhands, and is inkings' palaces.
29 There bethree things whichgowell, yea,four arecomely in going:
30 Alion which isstrongest amongbeasts, and turneth notaway for any;
31 Agreyhound; an hegoatalso; and aking, against whom there is no rising up.
32 If thou hast donefoolishly in liftingup thyself, or if thou hast thoughtevil, lay thinehand upon thy mouth.
33 Surely thechurning ofmilk bringethforthbutter, and thewringing of thenose bringethforthblood: so theforcing ofwrath bringethforth strife.
