Psalms
Chapter 10
KJV · Textus Receptus
Whystandest thou afaroff, OLORD? whyhidest thou thyself intimes of trouble?
Thewicked in hispride dothpersecute thepoor: let them betaken in thedevicesthat they have imagined.
For thewickedboasteth of hisheart'sdesire, andblesseth thecovetous, whom theLORD abhorreth.
Thewicked, through thepride of hiscountenance, will notseek after God:God is not in all his thoughts.
Hisways arealwaysgrievous; thyjudgments are farabove out of his sight: as for all hisenemies, he puffeth at them.
He hathsaid in hisheart, I shall not bemoved: for I shallnever be in adversity.
Hismouth isfull ofcursing anddeceit andfraud: under histongue ismischief and vanity.
Hesitteth in the lurkingplaces of thevillages: in the secretplaces doth hemurder theinnocent: hiseyes are privilyset against the poor.
He lieth inwaitsecretly as alion in hisden: he lieth inwait tocatch thepoor: he dothcatch thepoor, when hedraweth him into his net.
Hecroucheth, andhumbleth himself, that thepoor mayfall by his strong ones.
He hathsaid in hisheart,God hathforgotten: hehideth hisface; he willnever see it.
Arise, OLORD; OGod, liftup thinehand:forget not thehumble.
Wherefore doth thewickedcontemnGod? he hathsaid in hisheart, Thou wilt not require it.
Thou hastseen it; for thoubeholdestmischief andspite, torequite it with thyhand: thepoorcommitteth himself unto thee; thou art thehelper of the fatherless.
Break thou thearm of thewicked and theevil man: seekout hiswickedness till thoufind none.
TheLORD isKing forever andever: theheathen areperished out of his land.
LORD, thou hastheard thedesire of thehumble: thou wiltprepare theirheart, thou wilt cause thineear to hear:
Tojudge thefatherless and theoppressed, that theman of theearth may nomore oppress.
