[A Prayer ofDavid.]Hear theright, OLORD,attend unto mycry, giveear unto myprayer, that goethnot out offeigned lips.
2 Let mysentence comeforth from thypresence; let thineeyesbehold the things that are equal.
3 Thou hastproved mineheart; thou hastvisited me in thenight; thou hasttried me, and shaltfind nothing; I ampurposed that mymouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning theworks ofmen, by theword of thylips I havekept me from thepaths of the destroyer.
5 Holdup mygoings in thypaths, that myfootsteps slip not.
6 I havecalled upon thee, for thou wilthear me, OGod:incline thineear unto me, andhear my speech.
7 Shew thymarvellouslovingkindness, O thou thatsavest by thy righthand them which put theirtrust in thee from those that rise up against them.
8Keep me as theapple of theeye,hide me under theshadow of thy wings,
9From thewickedthatoppress me, from mydeadlyenemies, who compass me about.
10 They areinclosed in their ownfat: with theirmouth theyspeak proudly.
11 They have nowcompassed us in oursteps: they haveset theireyes bowingdown to the earth;
12Like as alion that isgreedy of hisprey, and as it were a younglionlurking in secret places.
13Arise, OLORD,disappointhim, cast himdown:deliver mysoul from thewicked, which is thy sword:
14 Frommen which are thyhand, OLORD, frommen of theworld, which have theirportion in thislife, and whosebelly thoufillest with thyhid treasure: they arefull ofchildren, andleave therest of their substance to their babes.
15 As for me, I willbehold thyface inrighteousness: I shall besatisfied, when Iawake, with thy likeness.
