KJV · Textus Receptus
[To the chiefMusician onNeginoth,Maschil, A Psalm ofDavid.] Giveear to myprayer, OGod; andhide not thyself from my supplication.
Attend unto me, andhear me: Imourn in mycomplaint, and make a noise;
Because of thevoice of theenemy, because of theoppression of thewicked: for theycastiniquity upon me, and inwrath they hate me.
Myheart is sorepainedwithin me: and theterrors ofdeath are fallen upon me.
Fearfulness andtrembling arecome upon me, andhorror hath overwhelmed me.
And Isaid, Ohthat I hadwings like adove! for then would I flyaway, and be at rest.
Lo, then would Iwander faroff, andremain in thewilderness. Selah.
I wouldhasten myescape from thewindystorm and tempest.
Destroy, OLord, anddivide theirtongues: for I haveseenviolence andstrife in the city.
Day andnight they goabout it upon thewalls thereof:mischief also andsorrow are in the midst of it.
Wickedness is in themidst thereof:deceit andguiledepart not from her streets.
For it was not anenemy thatreproached me; then I could haveborne it: neither was it he thathated me that didmagnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
But it was thou, aman mineequal, myguide, and mine acquaintance.
We tooksweetcounseltogether, andwalked unto thehouse ofGod in company.
Letdeathseize upon them, and let them godownquick intohell: forwickedness is in theirdwellings, and among them.
As for me, I willcall uponGod; and theLORD shall save me.
Evening, andmorning, and atnoon, will Ipray, and cryaloud: and he shallhear my voice.
He hathdelivered mysoul inpeace from thebattle that was against me: for there were many with me.
God shallhear, andafflict them, even he thatabideth ofold.Selah. Because they have nochanges, therefore theyfear not God.
He hath putforth hishands against such as be atpeace with him: he hathbroken his covenant.
The words of hismouth weresmoother thanbutter, butwar was in hisheart: hiswords weresofter thanoil, yet were they drawn swords.
Cast thyburden upon theLORD, and he shallsustain thee: he shallneversuffer therighteous to be moved.
But thou, OGod, shalt bring themdown into thepit ofdestruction:bloody anddeceitfulmen shall not live outhalf theirdays; but I will trust in thee.
