[A Psalm ofAsaph.] OGod, theheathen arecome into thineinheritance; thyholytemple have theydefiled; they havelaidJerusalem on heaps.
2 The deadbodies of thyservants have theygiven to bemeat unto thefowls of theheaven, theflesh of thysaints unto thebeasts of the earth.
3 Theirblood have theyshed likewater roundaboutJerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
4 We are become areproach to ourneighbours, ascorn andderision to them that are round about us.
5 How long,LORD? wilt thou beangry forever? shall thyjealousyburn like fire?
6 Pourout thywrath upon theheathen that have notknown thee, and upon thekingdoms that have notcalled upon thy name.
7 For they havedevouredJacob, and laidwaste his dwelling place.
8 Oremember not against usformeriniquities: let thy tendermerciesspeedilyprevent us: for we arebroughtvery low.
9Help us, OGod of oursalvation,for theglory of thyname: anddeliver us, and purgeaway oursins, for thy name's sake.
10 Wherefore should theheathensay, Where is theirGod? let him beknown among theheathen in oursight by therevenging of theblood of thyservants which is shed.
11 Let thesighing of theprisonercomebefore thee; according to thegreatness of thypowerpreserve thou those that areappointed to die;
12 Andrender unto ourneighbourssevenfold into theirbosom theirreproach, wherewith they havereproached thee, O Lord.
13 So we thypeople andsheep of thypasture will give theethanks forever: we will shewforth thypraise toall generations.
