Song of Solomon
Chapter 5
KJV · Textus Receptus
I amcome into mygarden, mysister, myspouse: I havegathered mymyrrh with myspice; I haveeaten myhoneycomb with myhoney; I havedrunk mywine with mymilk:eat, Ofriends;drink, yea, drinkabundantly, O beloved.
2 Isleep, but myheartwaketh: it is thevoice of mybeloved thatknocketh, saying,Open to me, mysister, mylove, mydove, myundefiled: for myhead isfilled withdew, and mylocks with thedrops of the night.
3 I have putoff mycoat;how shall I put iton? I havewashed myfeet;how shall I defile them?
4 Mybeloved putin hishandby thehole of the door, and mybowels were moved for him.
5 I roseup toopen to mybeloved; and myhandsdropped withmyrrh, and myfingers with sweetsmellingmyrrh, upon thehandles of the lock.
6 Iopened to mybeloved; but mybeloved hadwithdrawn himself, and wasgone: mysoulfailed when hespake: Isought him, but I could notfind him; Icalled him, but he gave me no answer.
7 Thewatchmen that wentabout thecityfound me, theysmote me, theywounded me; thekeepers of thewalls tookaway my veil from me.
8 Icharge you, Odaughters ofJerusalem, if yefind mybeloved, that yetell him, that I amsick of love.
9 What is thybeloved more than anotherbeloved, O thoufairest amongwomen? what is thybeloved more than anotherbeloved, thatthou dost so charge us?
10 Mybeloved iswhite andruddy, thechiefest among ten thousand.
11 Hishead is as themost finegold, hislocks arebushy, andblack as a raven.
12 Hiseyes are as the eyes ofdoves by therivers ofwaters, washed withmilk, and fitlyset.
13 Hischeeks are as abed ofspices, assweetflowers: hislips likelilies, dropping sweetsmelling myrrh.
14 Hishands are asgoldringsset with theberyl: hisbelly is asbrightivoryoverlaid with sapphires.
15 Hislegs are aspillars ofmarble, set uponsockets of finegold: hiscountenance is asLebanon, excellent as the cedars.
16 Hismouth is mostsweet: yea, he is altogetherlovely. This is mybeloved, and this is myfriend, Odaughters of Jerusalem.
