Zechariah
Chapter 12
KJV · Textus Receptus
Theburden of theword of theLORD forIsrael,saith theLORD, whichstretcheth forth theheavens, and layeth thefoundation of theearth, andformeth thespirit ofman within him.
2 Behold, I willmakeJerusalem acup oftrembling unto all thepeople roundabout, when they shall be in thesiege both againstJudah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in thatday will ImakeJerusalem aburdensomestone for allpeople: all thatburden themselves with it shall be cut inpieces, though all thepeople of theearth be gathered together against it.
4 In thatday,saith theLORD, I willsmite everyhorse withastonishment, and hisrider withmadness: and I willopen mineeyes upon thehouse ofJudah, and willsmite everyhorse of thepeople with blindness.
5 And thegovernors ofJudah shallsay in theirheart, Theinhabitants ofJerusalem shall be mystrength in theLORD ofhosts their God.
6 In thatday will Imake thegovernors ofJudah like anhearth offire among thewood, and like atorch offire in asheaf; and they shalldevour all thepeople roundabout, on the righthand and on theleft: andJerusalem shall beinhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 TheLORD also shallsave thetents ofJudahfirst, that theglory of thehouse ofDavid and theglory of theinhabitants ofJerusalem do notmagnify themselves against Judah.
8 In thatday shall theLORDdefend theinhabitants ofJerusalem; and he that isfeeble among them at thatday shall be asDavid; and thehouse ofDavid shall be asGod, as theangel of theLORD before them.
9 And it shall come to pass in thatday, that I willseek todestroy all thenations thatcome against Jerusalem.
10 And I willpour upon thehouse ofDavid, and upon theinhabitants ofJerusalem, thespirit ofgrace and ofsupplications: and they shalllook upon me whom they havepierced, and they shallmourn for him, as onemourneth for hisonly son, and shall be inbitterness for him, as one that is inbitterness for his firstborn.
11 In thatday shall there be agreatmourning inJerusalem, as themourning ofHadadrimmon in thevalley of Megiddon.
12 And theland shallmourn,everyfamilyapart; thefamily of thehouse ofDavid apart, and theirwives apart; thefamily of thehouse ofNathan apart, and their wives apart;
13 Thefamily of thehouse ofLevi apart, and theirwives apart; thefamily ofShimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All thefamilies thatremain, everyfamily apart, and their wives apart.
