Chapter 9
KJV · Textus Receptus
Theburden of theword of theLORD in theland ofHadrach, andDamascus shall be therest thereof: when theeyes ofman, as of all thetribes ofIsrael, shall be toward the LORD.
AndHamath also shallborder thereby;Tyrus, andZidon, though it bevery wise.
AndTyrus didbuild herself a stronghold, and heapedupsilver as thedust, and finegold as themire of the streets.
Behold, theLord will cast herout, and he willsmite herpower in thesea; and she shall bedevoured with fire.
Ashkelon shallsee it, andfear;Gaza also shall see it, and beverysorrowful, andEkron; for herexpectation shall beashamed; and theking shallperish fromGaza, andAshkelon shall not be inhabited.
And abastard shalldwell inAshdod, and I will cutoff thepride of the Philistines.
And I will takeaway hisblood out of hismouth, and hisabominations from between histeeth: but he thatremaineth, even he, shall be for ourGod, and he shall be as agovernor inJudah, andEkron as a Jebusite.
And I willencamp about minehouse because of thearmy, because of him that passethby, and because of him thatreturneth: and nooppressor shall passthrough them any more: for now have Iseen with mine eyes.
Rejoicegreatly, Odaughter ofZion;shout, Odaughter ofJerusalem: behold, thyKingcometh unto thee: he isjust, and havingsalvation;lowly, andriding upon anass, and upon acolt thefoal of an ass.
And I will cutoff thechariot fromEphraim, and thehorse fromJerusalem, and thebattlebow shall be cutoff: and he shallspeakpeace unto theheathen: and hisdominion shall be fromsea even tosea, and from theriver even to theends of the earth.
As for thee also, by theblood of thycovenant I have sentforth thyprisoners out of thepit wherein is no water.
Turn you to the stronghold, yeprisoners ofhope: even today do Ideclare that I willrender double unto thee;
When I havebentJudah for me,filled thebow withEphraim, and raisedup thysons, OZion, against thysons, OGreece, andmade thee as thesword of a mighty man.
And theLORD shall beseen over them, and hisarrow shall goforth as thelightning: and theLordGOD shallblow thetrumpet, and shallgo withwhirlwinds of the south.
TheLORD ofhosts shalldefend them; and they shalldevour, andsubdue withslingstones; and they shalldrink, and make anoise as throughwine; and they shall befilled likebowls, and as thecorners of the altar.
And theLORD theirGod shallsave them in thatday as theflock of hispeople: for they shall be as thestones of acrown, lifted up as anensign upon his land.
For how great is hisgoodness, and how great is hisbeauty!corn shall make the youngmencheerful, and newwine the maids.
