The Hook

'Sometimes a verse is not removed — it is quietly weakened. One small change, and the deity of Christ is dimmed. Watch what happens to 1 Timothy 3:16.'

Point 1

The deity of Christ, diminished. KJV: 'God was manifest in the flesh' (1 Tim 3:16) — a clear, ringing statement that Jesus is God. Many modern versions read 'He was manifest' or 'He appeared' — and the open declaration of Christ's deity is lost. One word changed; one great truth dimmed.

Point 2

A pattern across the text. Other passages show the same softening — titles of Christ dropped, 'Lord' or 'God' removed, the blood, the fasting, the worship of Christ quietly trimmed. No single change destroys the doctrine — the doctrine survives elsewhere — but the cumulative effect is a Bible that testifies to Christ less loudly than the one the church received.

Point 3

Small words carry great weight. 'Every word of God is pure' (Prov 30:5). In the things of God, a single word — 'God' for 'He,' the presence or absence of 'begotten' — carries the whole weight of a doctrine. This is why we contend for words, not just ideas.

The Line They Must Not Forget

Where the modern versions do not remove a verse, they often weaken it — and the weakening falls most heavily on the deity and glory of Christ.

The Appeal

We do not say modern-version readers are lost — many love the Lord. We say: why accept a Bible that testifies to your Saviour less clearly, when God preserved one that declares Him plainly?

Clarity of language is good, but it is a separate question from accuracy of text. A clear translation of a corrupted text is still a translation of a corrupted text. First settle WHICH text is the preserved Word; then we can talk about helping people understand its words. The Twi translation does exactly that — KJV-faithful text, in the people's own tongue.

Return always to the promise. God said His words are pure and that He would keep and preserve them forever (Ps 12:6-7; Matt 24:35). A position that requires God's true Word to have been lost for 1,500 years cannot be true, because God does not lose what He swore to keep. That is the rock you stand on when the manuscript arguments run out.
